I use Evolution now and again, but mainly use the Gmail web-based site. I have a BlackBerry too, so I don't really even need the Gmail site I guess.

Thanks for the comment!

Hi,

It seems to be the same problem I have with my BlackBerry. I have never really looked into it as I don't really use my phone as a modem anymore, but this is what I found on a blog post:

"The reason is pretty simple because providers like T-mobile build their new business models upon applications for mobiles and they want to dictate what you can and can not do. A first glimpse on those pratices are the tethering apps, i.e. apps which allow you to use your mobile device as proxy for data connections, e.g. using it as a modem for your laptop. Those apps originally existed in the Market and were removed by Google under pressure from T-mobile. On the iPhone T-mobile sells extra data plans if you want to be able to use your mobile as gateway with your laptop."

Have you search for a application that can do it?

Thanks for the comment. I understand what you mean when it comes to games. But this is something that is getting better and better. Except for the game support getting better, great quality, open-source games are becoming more popular.

I can\'t say I\'ve ever had a issue with printer support. Have you tried Ubuntu recently?

I\'ve used Linux on and off for a long time and its been the only OS on my system for almost 2 years and I\'ll never go back.

But yes, I would not recommend anybody to cold turkey from Windows/Mac and go to Linux all immediately. Dual boot for as long as you need before making the switch permanent as it is a learning curve. A great one! :-)
