Big Hollywood : Daily Gut: Cash for Clunkers

AMC Pinto. Hmm. Ok, there are probably about 10 AMC's left in America, maybe half that many Ford Pintos- and they are killing the planet. OK. How do you kill a planet? Seems like you can ram a meteor into it, kill some ungodly percentage of life, wait a few million years and voila! new species, green planet, and Al Gore. Did this kill the planet? Our planet has been much warmer in the past then it is now. Did it die then? If all of the recent warming were due to sunspots, or natural Al Gore gasseous emissions, would you still advocate devoting huge chunks of human effort to control the weather, or would that just be mother nature and we need to deal with it? By the way, if you are fearing warming, please let us know the optimal earth temperature and lets tax the world and engineer systems to override nature's cycles and get the planet to the "right" temperature. Hey maybe giant fans all over the earth could cool it down. And we could put windmills in the breeze they create to power the fans! Hey look at me I'm green!
