In 1981, after decades of democrat control of Congress, the wealthiest 5% of income earners in America paid 28% of ALL Federal taxes. By 2005, that number was at 46%. And it is growing. The top 25% pay nearly 90% of ALL federal taxes. The top 5% pay over 60% of ALL Income tax. The bottom 50% pay but 3% of all Federal taxes, Income % FICA.
