KOMO - Seattle, WA : Burien wags more, barks less with new program | KOMO News - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weath

This program WILL NOT work. How is a veterinarian supposed to run an animal control, not to mention a conflict of interest. When she is in surgery, and a call comes in what is supposed to do drop the scalpel and run out get the animal in question. I was told to catch a unaltered male pit and then call Burien Animal Control really? Um I don't think so that is what BAC is supposed to do. Just found out they don't take owner surrender animals? WHAT? What are the people supposed to do. The vet said try Craig's List. A pit bull on craig's list is going to be pit bull bait more than anything or a breeder. Then the other shelters won't take the owner surrenders because is it is not from there city. This a catastrophe waiting to happen. Not to mention they don't offer true low cost S/N. They charge $150.00 for a cat spay. $100 or so for a cat neuter. That is not low cost. South Seattle vet is MUCH cheaper, only 50 for spay and 25 for a neuter and this my costs. BAC doesn't even refer people to them or have option. This is a HUGE joke and animal and people will suffer for this.
