As a complete unbiased guy here that loves mlb, cfb, nfl, nhl I never really thought as much about mls and for that fact very little about aaa baseball its a good move for Beaverton in that they get a team and will get a 2-7,000 crowd per night. Unless you have mlb in baseball your typically pretty irrelevent. As for mls it will be very popular like the midwest and apple pie. Portland is weird and very hippie oriented and soccer WILL fill the stands at pge very similar to what Seattle did with the Sounders. While Portland is not a major league city I would want to venture into if I was an owner from a major sports team, soccer is perfect for the little city that does'nt want to get big.

I will say this I was there and it was another life lost unneccessarily due to major negligence. There were cars before hand complaining about her driving almost sideswiping a truck and then another car that was passed within the park where its posted at 20-25mph. She had to be going approximately 40-45 mph around that corner and the impact was heavy. All 4 survivors laid out quickly of the car with the woman (Katie) admnitting she was drunk and she killed someone. Pretty horrific experience for everyone around not too mention the park being on lockdown for 3-4 hours with various people stranded with no cellphones etc because of being on the river. I believe she will get her punishment accordingly. I really feel for the person who passed away and although he should take some responsibility she was very wreckless! Sad situation for sure..
