This is certainly something that all of us, in this group and every other conservative group, should be loud and clear about in every way we can that we as citizens will not support any nominee who will legislate from the bench. We need to make the point as forcefully as possible with our own elected officials and with the leadership of the political parties. We will probably not succeed at this point, but we need to stand united on this issue and at least let our voices be heard.

Glenn never had, or wanted, control of this site. He created it in response to requests from his listeners for some way for conservatives to connect with each other. He's leaving it up to us to determine how to use it and whether we succeed or fail. He does not want to be the leader as he feels we must all step up and be leaders ourselves. He has said that on Sept. 12 of this year we will review what we've done with it.

I served in Vietnam with a Mormon. He was a good man with strong and admirable values. He never failed to write a letter to his family every night. Even though he was thousands of miles from home, his behavior and values were apparent and unwavering every day. I admired him greatly.

Not only should we be aware of imposters pretending to be part of our groups, we should stand in front of them and block any cameras trying to take pictures or videos of them. We should all be wise enough to know that if there is one negative sign or T-shirt at a tea party, even if there are a thousand people, any MSM reporter or photographer present is going to find and use that person to represent everyone else at the gathering.

I reluctantly have to agree. I always felt that voters should decide whether their representative was worthy of staying in office for several terms, but unfortunately, most voters generally don't pay much attention to what their rep is actually doing and too many are too uninformed to understand it anyway. My reps, Sen. Levin and Rep. John Dingell have made careers out of their positions. Congressman Dingell just became the longest serving congressman in Washington. Once reps are in office too long, they no longer respond to their citizens. They follow their own agendas and only answer to their special interest groups that keep them in office. It's sad but interesting that before the election, a survey showed that a majority of people thought that all of Congress should be replaced with new people that weren't sold out to special interest groups and lobbyists. Obviously, they thought everybody else's rep needed voted out except theirs.

I certainly agree about the earmarks. I live in Michigan and I'm tired of paying for monuments to Senator Robert Byrd in W. Virginia. The feds tax the money out of our states, then give part of it back under their terms. Such money should have been left in the states to begin with so the citizens and legislators of each state could determine their own projects. I also would like to see similar projects listed in the same bills, i.e., infrastructure spending bills should contain infrastructure projects, and not everything else legislators slip in that have nothing to do with the title or main purpose of the bill.

There are a lot of things that should be taught in schools K-12 instead of some of the liberal indoctrination that they're getting. The simple answer is to get your own books and teach them yourself. There are books available for all ages on topics our children and grandchildren should be learning. I'm sure that members of this group can make recommendations. No doubt there are lots of home-schoolers.

You're right on. It is up to each of us to do what we can without looking only to Glenn for leadership. I take my example from Ronald Reagan. He was able to bring conservatism to its greatest strength and he garnered votes, respect, and support across party lines because of his unwavering principles to those ideals that America was founded on. His gentle good humor, common sense, love of country, and other attributes won over more Americans than any other politician in my lifetime. However, when he left office, conservatism starting diminishing without his leadership. We can't ever afford to constantly look for someone to hold our hands, as you said.
