Someone needs to ask Dr. Goodall some veiled questions about how she feels about the locals in Tanzania.

Some might get the impression that she thinks that Africa would be better off without Africans. Maybe "Black Lives Matter" could ask her a few questions.

What a deal ... ~$1,000/acre in Boulder County ... farmland in Kansas sells for ~$5k/acre.

I love the DC's photo of the jacka$$ popping a wheelie at the intersection. Perhaps a better solution might be to have a city wide crackdown on cyclists? Enforcing existing laws would be the real solution; however, the city has a different agenda which is basically to make driving in a vehicle as difficult and frustrating as possible.

Maybe CU could come up with a "Stop Rape" campaign with pics of predators assaulting victims?

Agree, helicoptering and mom probably wanted the medical exam. Helicopter mom is the reason that he turned off his phone.

Probably bangin' some girl.
My roommate "disappeared" for a few weeks. He was shacking up with his girlfriend, a "petite model" (she had to work that into every conversation). Moms sometimes cant deal with the idea that their *adult* sons might be enjoying the company of young ladies ... My roommate's mom called the university, the RA left notes, came by to ask about his whereabouts, I replied "He's been at his girlfriend's house for a couple of weeks" ... the RA didn't want to tell his mom, and mom came by at 10:00AM on a Saturday morning looking for him. She freaked when she found out that she was with his girlfriend for 2 weeks. ;-)

I also recall seeing newspaper thrown out along 287 between HWY 52 and Oxford Road, and when I saw it I thought that it might have been from a garbage truck. After seeing the newspaper all along the road, and no other garbage, I remember thinking that it looked like the newspaper delivery truck had been going down the road with the back door open.

I had been wondering where all of the books were coming from.

The non-native species bishbosh is simply a ruse. OSMP and DPW should have done their jobs in the first place - they didn't notice when there were 30 - 40 goldfish, they didn't notice when there were 300 - 400 goldfish, but now that there are 3000 - 4000 goldfish ... now they notice, and now it is a problem. The situation is simply an admission that neither party have been doing their jobs. Maybe the Boulder naturalist, if she had actually been to Teller Agricultural Pond #5 could have raised the "red flag" a year ago? It isn't that hard to spot orange fish in a lake.

As JakPott said above, goldfish are simply a different type of carp. There have been lots of non-goldfish carp in lakes at Teller Farm for a least a couple of decades. Have a look at the maps of Boulder County - pre-1900 - there are no lakes in the area. The Teller Lakes are agricultural ponds that were used for watering livestock and irrigation. Anything in the ponds has basically been stocked. In a nutshell, we have an unnatural body of water with stocked fish - the non-goldfish carp in the ponds are non-native carp and originate in Asia. As JakPott pointed out, this is really about too many fish that we dont like, competing with fish that we do like.

During hunting season, I do my best, to try to eradicate the non-native ring-necked pheasant, which originated in Asia. ;-)

Long story short, it should be no big deal to drain an ag-pond to get rid of the fish that we dont want; allow the pond to refill; and restock the pond with fish that we do want. In the process herons, raccoons and other wildlife will be fat and happy.

Teller Lake isn't even a real lake ... it's a man-made agricultural pond.

So here's what you have - a fake lake, with goldfish.
