Some might get the impression that she thinks that Africa would be better off without Africans. Maybe "Black Lives Matter" could ask her a few questions.

My roommate "disappeared" for a few weeks. He was shacking up with his girlfriend, a "petite model" (she had to work that into every conversation). Moms sometimes cant deal with the idea that their *adult* sons might be enjoying the company of young ladies ... My roommate's mom called the university, the RA left notes, came by to ask about his whereabouts, I replied "He's been at his girlfriend's house for a couple of weeks" ... the RA didn't want to tell his mom, and mom came by at 10:00AM on a Saturday morning looking for him. She freaked when she found out that she was with his girlfriend for 2 weeks. ;-)

As JakPott said above, goldfish are simply a different type of carp. There have been lots of non-goldfish carp in lakes at Teller Farm for a least a couple of decades. Have a look at the maps of Boulder County - pre-1900 - there are no lakes in the area. The Teller Lakes are agricultural ponds that were used for watering livestock and irrigation. Anything in the ponds has basically been stocked. In a nutshell, we have an unnatural body of water with stocked fish - the non-goldfish carp in the ponds are non-native carp and originate in Asia. As JakPott pointed out, this is really about too many fish that we dont like, competing with fish that we do like.
During hunting season, I do my best, to try to eradicate the non-native ring-necked pheasant, which originated in Asia. ;-)
Long story short, it should be no big deal to drain an ag-pond to get rid of the fish that we dont want; allow the pond to refill; and restock the pond with fish that we do want. In the process herons, raccoons and other wildlife will be fat and happy.

So here's what you have - a fake lake, with goldfish.
