/Film : LOL: Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine Respond to Trekkies

Hey nice, that's the first time I can get access to a clip from Hulu - NBC won't let me watch this because I'm not from the US. To the clip: was ok, but could have been better imo. But it's always good to see Leonard Nimoy back on the screen.Still looking forward to the film, hope to see it next week.

While I do not support the 'idiot' or 'douchebag' replies (how old are you, 4?), I have to say that the cameo of Schwarzenegger has been in the (movie) news for quite a while, so that wasn't really a big secret anymore. But for some readers it still might come as a surprise, of course.

/Film : This Week in DVD: The Uninvited, JCVD, Bride Wars, and More

The Uninvited might be okay as your standard horror flick with a twist, but the post is right here: forget that remake! And better take a look at the FAR far superior source material for it, the South Korean movie 'A Tale Of Two Sisters'. 'A Tale Of Two Sisters' is really one of the BEST (horror) movies I've seen. It's not only a horror movie and a (mystery) thriller with multi-layered storyline and a great level of depth and complexity, but it is also a drama which is able to creat emotional impact in a way its remake never would have been able to do. (Btw., 'The Uninvited' may have been 'inspired' by the original main plot, but the story itself is partially changed and simplified. So it's really not a direct remake, it just tries to use the good ideas of the original, but in the end it is just a inferior, standard horror movie compared to ATOTS.) So if you've get the chance, try to watch the original, at best with the original language and subtitles! :-)

/Film : Armored Movie Trailer

Like Jean Reno, so that is definitively a plus I would say... But I think the trailer tells too much of the story of the movie already. Doesn't look bad, but also not really that interesting in my opinion. (Not interesting because it seems that the story will be quite predictable - but who knows, maybe I'm wrong. We'll see.) Why has my first comment here or the one at the Inglourious Basterds post been deleted, I don't get it. (No bad speech or big secrets revealed, just harmless postings.) Update: Ok one comment 'came back'. Hope this one will stay...

Like Jean Reno, so that's definitively a plus. But I don't know, for me the trailer seems to show too much of the story. (So it's the 'bad bad' guys vs. the 'good bad' guy(s) - well I think I know who usually wins here... ) Doesn't look bad, but not really that interesting either in my opinion.

/Film : Eli Roth to Shoot Transformers/Cloverfield Scale Movie this Autumn

My guess for the film would be his planned adaptation of the book Cell from Stephen King - although that stuff is really rather horror than scifi. It's been quite a while when Roth mentioned that he wanted to do this project, so it's about time to get more details for that… Well I hope that Cell will be adapted for the big screen. (But it doesn't have to be necessarily Eli Roth - personally, I'm not a fan of his Hostel movies (second one was just trash in my opinion ) and some of his statements he made concerning violence like 'I only deliver what the people want', if I recall it right.) I mean, this book starts within the first few pages with the apocalypse respectively the breakdown of society, caused by a worldwide transmitted signal over mobile phones which turns most people in some kind of zombies. (Well if that's not chaos and mass destruction... ) That just has to be made into a movie…

Well I think they probably use the 300 Million for the many special effects needed to make this costume look cool ;-) No seriously, that will surely look much nicer in the finished product. (Well perhaps this scene is actually in the movie, and it shows a single program - must be some kind of Windows, referring to that sexy suit - taking a break to drink some coffee... So that's what REALLY happens when you see the hourglass on your computer screen... ;-) )

Film School Rejects : This Is What It's Like When 'Twilight' Fans Attack

Hey perhaps somehow a little off-topic, but if you want to see a really good Vampire movie - not to say a fantastic, brilliant one- forget Twilight and watch 'Let The Right One In', directed by Thomas Alfredson. It is also an adaptation (of what I heard a really good novel with the same name, written by Ajvide Lindqvistwith who did also write the screenplay for the film), but with so much more depth, heart and soul than Twilight will ever (ever) have. (Meaning the movie here, don't know about the series.) Give it a chance, you won't regret it! And if you decide to see it (Well I hope you will :-) ) and live in the US, here's a tip: Magnolia released this film short time ago in America on DVD/Blu-Ray, but sadly with mutilated English subtitles. So for watching the best version of the film here, you'll have to wait till they re-release it with the proper 'theatrical' version of the subtitles.(It's a Swedish film. You could of course also just see it with the English dubbed voices, but I read comments that the speakers didn't perform too well here. (But the text seems to be at least from the better subs.) And hey, I'd say watching foreign films in their original language with subs usually creates a much better experience than the English dubbed versions.) They didn't tell by now when they will do realease the proper ones - but they better do that soon, many fans want to see this movie. (And many are ***ed that Magnolia didn't manage to deliver the proper subs...) Well, so much to Twilight... ;-)
