I went in there as a pregnant 35 year old last month to buy lots of stretchy bras and new undies and the 16 year olds working there were so confused by my presence. But damn it, I am not paying more than $15 for tiny pieces of stretchy fabric for my boobs.
ohmy god I"m leaving to floss right now. That is an effective strategy, even if not the greatest analogy.

Oh yeah, she'll still be a total trashcan. Just keep an eye on the ribcage zone. You should be able to feel the ribs under a layer of muscle; you should not have to prod through rolls or a inch of fat to feel them. She's not going to starve, I promise! Just rachet it down a bit at a time until she feels about right and then that's your maintenance diet.
It is really fucking hot. Similar to top worst humid / hot days in DC / midatlantic. It would be ok if you're night owls and willing to siesta during the hottest part of the day, but you'll definitely need some downtime or pool access. That said, it is really really cheap that time of year!

awww don't fret. There are jerk vets just like jerk doctors that focus waaaay too much on weight. My best friend's kitty is prone to fatness and she is just a happier camper with a little weight on her. Her vet insisted my friend starve her into health and she spent a year being a grumpy asshole. We decided to let her be a little fat because that's what works for her. Your dog is squeezable and wonderful and enjoying life. Fuck your vet.
This guy's counterpart lives in my neighborhood -- a half pit half corgie that is basically a pit head on the stumpiest little tube body. I laugh so hard every time I see him and I don't think his owner gets it.
