Still no Verizon - 6 months after USA launch - is a killer in the USA. That is 1/2 the contract mobile phone users and simply a huge untapped market. Sprint with only a clunky qwerty phone doesn't help either.

Verizon is not known for 1. good prices off contract, 2. timely anything or 3. appeasing customers. $199 on 2-year contract USA is pretty normal and expected for Verizon customers with Smartphones. The Trophy is an adequate phone not "mediocre" by any stretch of the imagiation.

again, in designing WP7 updates.... if MS allowed a 3rd party to install the latest OFFICIAL update AND also not be upgradable further... THEY ARE INEPT. They completely and utterly failed and to a crucial base of vocal, early adopters. It's not like chevron rooted, reimaged and wiped phones using a hacked ROM. If it did that then of course NoDo would not be expected to be updated. Microsoft gets a lot of bad press that is unwarranted - including from lame bloggers like Paul T. who cried about "blocking updates", ignoring business realities. This is a technical FIASCO, if true. I'm still doubting Brandon is 100% correct though.

at&t address book option appears in settings, people, add an account. installed with the "samsung update" that zune installs over the Chevron/Nodo updated Focus I assume if you "notify when new wifi connections are available" the att WISPr will work. I can try that next time i go to Barnes & Noble. also the Focus camera now defaults to image stabilization ON :-)

alienation of other stores is a major problem. Apple does not have that concern. In any mall you have 2-3 "video game" stores. So if MS opens a Microsoft store (even a small one) and has xbox demos and lounges that would be a major conflict of interest nationwide with those chain stores. Etc.

actually it says loud and clear some ads are more valuable than others. so in others words ads for "the ultimate noize making app" might not be (and is not) worth the same to advertisers as a productivity app, or an app with a specific demographic with large advertising pools ready. all impressions are not created equally which again should be common knowledge.

Then the ads would simply not appear in apps. The fill rate doesn't seem to be a problem. The "Microsoft said on the issue:" quote is an explanation that should be clear to all (and no surprise). This thread highlights why MS and the CARRIERS have been slow in upgrading to NoDo. The Focus (i own one) obviously is a problem device here as even the chevron updated required "restoring" (no data loss) to run the update. Hating on MS or the Carriers is simply child-like. If you want to play it safe the answer is obvious before this notice... WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL CARRIER UPDATE NOTIFICATION. Simple huh.

I see no ad revenue drop in my 4 apps - none of which are games but instead useful tools designed for people to use regularly to bolster ad revenue possibilities since the USA market ones are no cost. I'm not aware of the logic used for "CTR %" and "eCPM" but you will certainly get more revenue with more people using an app for shorter times since ad algorithms want unique people (not someone playing a game for a half hour).

i don't mind reflashing and wiping in 6 months (although it seems highly unlikely). if they'd release proper microSD card support i'd flash tomorrow to have more space on my Focus again.
