Big Peace : 2011: Global Balance of Power Shift? Coping With China

China is also experiencing a huge economic bubble that is about to burst. When it does with 2 trillion dollars of US bonds in their hands, we can expect a wild ride. A lot of their current military expenditures are going to have to either dry up (for now) or be focused inward on protecting the regime against the political instability that could follow an economic collapse. See PJTV's Front Page with Alan Barton where Terry Jones of IBD discusses the China bubble at 12:15: http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&mpid=113.

I hope the new speaker fully realizes that he is about to take center stage in a critically important time in world history. He has a but a fleeting chance to rise to the occasion. We should all wish him success, for if he fails an even darker future will soon ensue.

If you believe this country should not continue to be a banana republic, you should be at war with this administration. There should be no compromise with them, nor should any quarter be given them, we should fight them with everything we have until they are vanquished. This administration is plainly evil and it must be removed from power.

Breitbart.com : Republicans lie in wait for returning Obama

Republicans should demand significant concessions (e.g., phasing out the EPA and the Department of Education) in exchange for increasing the debt limit. When Obama refuses to sign, they can say they he is causing the government to shut down. When they increase the debt limit, they should only do it a few hundred billion dollars at a time so that frequent future votes to increase the limit will be necessary as the burgeoning interest rate on our current debt inexorably continues to push the debt limit upwards. This will give them many more opportunities for further concessions.

Read the Constitution. It is not that hard to understand! What it doesn't say, it doesn't say. And it doesn't say anything about FEDERAL laws that constrain consensual sex or drug use/possession of any kind (or any requirements to purchase health insurance). Let us throw all the stare decisis crap aside and go back to the fundamentals. Under the Tenth Amendment, any US state may approve/outlaw anything that doesn't contradict the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Cool. I support any people and ideas that will advance the cause of American exceptionalism and I truly hope you do as well. You said: "Universal health care is not only possible and practical, but it can also be made to be very affordable." I responded that this is true only at the expense of quality. Since you offered to answer, here are five general questions: 1. Who pays, who provides services, and who collects payments in your proposed universal system? In this, I am ONLY looking for major differences from the status quo that include any big differences in any individual's health care costs. 2. Does your system require anyone or everyone to register prior to receiving benefits? 3. Is it strictly Constitutional (or might Constitutional amendments be required)? 4. Does care quality vary according to any rule in your system? If so, generally how? 5. Are there any general medical procedures done now (e.g., kidney transplants) that would not be done universally in your system?

I HATE mud wrestling! I always get dirty when I do it. The statement: "Universal health care is not only possible and practical, but it can also be made to be very affordable" is only true if the quality of that care is crap! Therefore, I don't like what it contributes to our future! Do you like that quote?

Hmm, statist religion as a blank slate. Kinda like it. Reminds me of a meditation trick involving seeing your thoughts as a blackboard where you should erase anything new. I couldn't meditate this way because I imagined my arms getting tired from all that erasing.

"Universal health care is not only possible and practical, but it can also be made to be very affordable." -rainmaker1145 Oh yes, and we can have a world with rivers of chocolate flowing through parks filled with laughing children flying kites among the butterflies. There is not enough money in the world to pay for decent universal healthcare, but then again, you didn't say anything about quality, did you? Guess there is enough money for band aids for everyone :-)
