I'm not very smart at writing about politics, so please forgive me.
I would wish for the dissolving of the party system.
I would wish for more safeguards in our government that would prevent a one part take over like we have now.
I wish that the people could actually vote on pay-raises & benefits for government officials.
I wish that lobbyists would lobby the American people for their pet projects, and that we could vote them in our out instead of them being slipped into bills via earmarks (convince ME you need something instead of making promises back and forth with government officials).
I really wish that the tax system would be restructured in such a way that it was fair to all, and didn't break anyone's back.
I also WISH that the government would quit taxing "SINNERS" (referring to sin taxes on alcohol, tobacco etc) and then claiming that they haven't taxed them.
And I REALLY wish the government would butt out of things that are none of their business, like what parents pack in their kids lunches!

I just want to be free to live my life without feeling like I've got to be afraid of my government.

hmm What a sad direction this country is going in. It's another way to target children with political opinions. I don't think children should deal with such issues that are so complex. Not because they're stupid, but because they just shouldn't have to. And if a kid thinks Obama is a superhero, how will they ever be taught the truth of history? It's too confusing mixing things up like this.
