I have an iPad2 running iOS 5.0 (9A334). I would like to jailbreak my device after a couple of months once I terminate my contract with the carrier. To maximize the possibility of jailbreaking it, should I upgrade to 5.0.1 now, or should I stay on 5.0 (knowing that once the next version is released, 5.0.1 may not be available). Also, any other thing I need to do to ensure I can JB it? Thanks!
I'm not in the US, and I did try after turning off 3G. Really don't understand what the problem is. Everything is installed and working fine except for the phone (lol) Does it have to do anything with the fact that my SIM is from an official provider (but yea, I didn't get the iPhone through them)
Or I'll have to try out some other network. My SIM card is over 4 years old and I read somewhere that it MIGHT be an issue.
Hey thanks for that! Jailbroke it successfully. But now Unlock doesn't work even after installing ultrasn0w. My Baseband is still 4.26.08 but bootloader is 06.02. Is that the problem?
I'm having a problem. This is my first iPhone so I'm not sure where I'm going wrong. I built the custom 3.1 firmware for my 3G using pwnage tool and then put the phone into DFU mode and then restored the custom firmware. Everything goes on fine, and the phone reboots and shows the pineapple logo. But after that, I only get "Insert valid SIM" screen in emergency mode. Not able to get into the normal menu. And yes, I didn't chose activate the phone in the options, nor did I chose to update baseband.
Any thoughts on where I'm going wrong?
