HGTV Green Home : HGTV Green Home 2011 Virtual Home Tour

I love the smaller guest room (boys room). Love the colors. This is a great home for me. Love the dog bath. Not a fan of yellow, but saw myself becoming more comfortable as I completed my tours and photos. The new contemporary look with rustic, odd, and traditional pieces is the new decorating concept for interior design this year and it was done very well in this home. Love the curtains.

HGTV Green Home : How Solar Works

Spent many fun weekends in Denver and surrounding area. I haven't been to Stapleton, but after I get settled into my new Dream Home in Vermont perhaps I can visit the Green Home. I am more excited about seeing it now that I believe there is a powder room on the 1st floor. And, I would even forfit a glass of wine for an evening for one of Coops' Green drinks.

HGTV Dream Home : Kitchen Design and Storage Details

Coop, I did notice this and very excited about the products being local. It's very important to me to utilize the area commodities and support the local residents. It's even better when the products are perfect for the home such as these products. Thank you for posting this observation. I don't get to read all the posts anymore, (11 hour work days) but not complaining and still fun to see what we all notice.

Well, ..where is the pantry? Wasn't last years pantry perfect? This year is a little confusing as the house is being pushed as a ski dorm vacation home with a chef's kitchen but without food storage. The mud room has a lot of storage and I venture to say, we will end up using portions of that as the pantry due to the location of the mud room to the kitchen. Also, I would probably end up building storage shelves on the East wall of the garage too.

Well I finally did my homework and researched the DH and Mountain Lodge exact locations and distance from each other, and of course as I posted last week, I found my wine lounge less than a minute from the house because the DH home is 52 seconds from the parking lot of the Lodge. The satellite site is fun to look at. For me, I like having the home close to this entertainment/restaurant/ice/skating rink/ ski lodge. While I will not be skiing I will be renting to skiers, and personally, the lodge is the perfect place for me have fun and meet people to network for renters....oh, and drink a glass of wine.

Oh My Bloggers! So I'm slow! I just figured out why the wine lounge is so close to the house. Because the entire Ski Lodge is close to the house. The lodge is 1 minute from the DH home and the wine lounge is inside the lodge. So now I am catching on to the ski in and ski out statements. Mountain Rd is directly underneath the home as seen on the videos and that takes us pretty much any place we want to go, including the lodge, which is our neighbor.

Gosh Delmar, I've never seen so many replies to such a benign comment. Funny! I totally sympathize with your size dilemma. I have never been able to find a rental where the kitchen or bathroom cabinets or sinks were "my size". I'm very tall so I have to bend over just to wash the dishes or prepare meals. It's very inconvenient, all this bending over all the time. My grandmother was 4'2" and I spent a lot of time reaching for her to the top cabinets, her kitchen was too tall. I did see one time a ktichen designed for short people. It was very nice for the woman living there.

Guess what? I just Binged the location of the nearest Wine Lounge and it's less than a minute from the house!! Seems strange though, (just one minute) but if you look at all the restaurant listings they are all pretty much on Mountain Road from one end of Ski Club Rd down Mountain Rd. So after I've spent all week cooking in my convenient kitchen, I will walk to the wine lounge on Saturday afternoon in my new ski shoes, using my trecking poles, and sit quietly sipping a great wine in this beautiful lounge, reflecting on all my kithcen amenities!!

I love the power shower but also had the curtain wrapping problem. I found a clear liner with weighted magnets on the bottom and it has been the greatest buy. It was not really expensive! No more problem with wrapping and I get a great power shower that allows me to rinse my hair quickly and stimulates blood flow too!

I love the Ethan Allen furnishings this year!! I also love the fabrics. Green isn't my favorite color but anxious to see how it looks and blends this spring with the outdoors just a step away. I haven't seen leather like this in the other homes and those annex and ktichen chairs are rich and luxurious looking.

Shoot. Everyone was very kind to send me the link to the Blueprints but it didn't help me understand the closet space outside of or in the master bedroom. On our photos, from the ktichen you can see part of the view outside the window in the master bedroom, I'm trying to figure that out as I can't understand the view from the bedroom looking at the double doorway. Is the doorway the closet? What is the space between the closet and the bedroom, hallway?

or we could get one of those long handled mirrors they use for car repair so we can see the controls and then use a long handled tree trimmer modified for Monumentuous Washing Machines to trip the controls. Next we'll need some kind of cherry picker to get the clothes out of the washer. Too funny to me. Who really would just leave them like that knowing it is impossible to reach! Being a bit cynical...It's like putting a pool on the rooftop with no ladder and a hose that 's 8 feet long from the base of the house.

Hi bloggers. Does anyone know where the DH 2011 blue prints are located. I saw them yesterday and now cannot remember which link I opened to see them. I'm not looking for the pink ones, I am looking for the actual blue print before all the changes were made. Thank you to whomever may respond. I am loving this home more and more each time I search through the pictures and videos. Funny we don't get to see any of the closet spaces this year, and perhaps they will surprise us later with those views. I love the guest bedroom and annex, the linens, the views and mudroom. I love everything else too and everyday I change my mind on which room and products I love the best. Good thing I'm tall, cause the laundry machine controls are way up there, but that's what maids are for.

HGTV Dream Home : Step Inside HGTV Dream Home 2011

Well I have looked at all the videos and pictures for all rooms, furnishings, and products. I like the idea of using local displays of art and local wines in the home.. At first I was not jumping up and down about the kitchen/dining, but changed my mind after reviewing due to the appliances, 2 sinks, wine refr. and mostly the outward facing stove and leather chairs. I love the annex and the guest bedroom. I can't get over the LL kitchenette, laundry and grilling area not having sinks, no LL fireplace, & 2 open space toilets that need to be enclosed.. However, I am falling in love with the gathering room and the extra seating in front of the windows. I love, love, love, the menswear fabrics, upholstery, and furnishings throughout the house. Stowe seems to be a great little town filled with fun, art and culture. I see myself sitting in the hot tub with my friends, laughing and relaxing after a day of shopping and entertainment in town. I would like to win a small lottery so I can own this home for the duration of my life. Then I will rent out my ski dorm and call it Charmayne's Chalet. -The perfect all season vacation home.
