Interesting article...and was very thought provoking. I agree with most, if not all, of what you said. We are destroying ourselves with multiculturalism and an unwillingness to stand for a sense of strong nationalism. But instead we beat ourselves up trying to be everything to everyone.
My thoughts:

We have regarded the Russians as enemies so long, that we don't know how else to treat them. We have engaged in many wars by proxy with the Russians, that it seems to be a hard habit to break.

The Berlin wall came down during HWB term, and the Soviet Union as it was known began to disintegrate. Then Clinton was elected. Clinton seemed to be sympathetic to islam. Would a Republican President (in1991) made a difference at that time? We'll never know.

I don't see the West as expansionist. Rather if anything, Western doctrine was to isolate the Soviets, now Russia. Clinton surrounded himself with old Democratic war hawks and the Russian isolation continued. We did court old Soviet bloc nations more to irritate the Russians, than impose democracy. These former Soviet bloc nations wanted anything that wasn't Soviet or Communist. Western values seemed to be the thing they wanted, and embraced it wholeheartedly. It was not forced upon them. And still isn't... as examples, look at (Soviet) Georgia and the Ukraine. Today, it is the Russians that have to coerce them, along with most of Europe, with the threat of fuel disruption to keep them in line.

Another recent example is in Kyrgyzstan's refusal to allow the US, to develop an air base to support the war in Afghanistan. The refusal came after the Russians made an offer that Kyrgyzstan couldn't refuse. More proxy wars.

The West has tried to cozy up to islamic countries, as a force against the Soviets. But the Soviets have also played this game. The Soviets invade Afghanistan, and we give aid to the mujahideen to help defeat the Soviets. The Soviets suffer a humiliating defeat.. after what.. 8 years of fighting. Some say it was the Soviet Vietnam... and who supported Vietnam during our war over there... the Soviets. Proxy wars.

We backed Iraq and the Soviets backed Iran, during their long Iran-Iraq war. Another war by proxy. And just prior to that war, we backed the Shah of Iran. While the Soviets backed Iraq.

It is interesting that we now ally ourselves with the muslims of the Balkans, especially when these muslims allied themselves with the german nazis during WW2, and even provided troops for the German war machine. I can't quite figure out why we support muslims here, except it is a counter to the Russians. The Russians do the same for muslims in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Proxy war.

Yet, the Russians fight with muslims in Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia.

It is true that we do have more in common with the Russians and most of the eastern Christians of the area, at least religiously. But we seem to suffer from a severe difference of ideologies and mistrust that will prevent us from becoming allies for the foreseeable future. That is a shame.

The US should become closer to Russia, especially now, as the muslim world moves into strict interpretation of islamic jurisprudence. We have more to gain as friends, than as foes.

This is part of a world wide push by the socialists or whatever you want to call them, to rewrite history to suite their propaganda. It's everywhere you look today. The so called mainstream media, the papers, politicians, the hollywood elite. They have openly declared war on people who don't see the world through their eyes.

There was a story that was just written, where the author, a Russian, claimed that Poland was responsible for starting World War 2. He claimed that if Poland had allowed Germany access to Danzig (Gdansk), by ceding that territory to Germany... Germany would have never launched the Blitzkrieg.

Never mind that the Czechs ceded territory to Germany, brokered by the British, and still was not able to avert war.

This Russian went on to write that Poland again is not cooperating with Russia, by not providing land access to Kaliningrad and invites starting another war. The Russians are trying to justify a land grab, or worse.... start another war.

These people are sick, whatever you chose to call them...communists, socialists, leftards, progressives, islamists... they are not happy unless people they don't like are dying.

I truly fear for what I, and most of us here, have known as western values, as they continue to to be eroded by these self righteous, history ignoring, freedom hating, godless, egotistical zealots.

Here's another recent example of the human hating left by Megan Fox, who starred in Transformers. When asked how she would stop the ruthless Megatron from demolishing the world, Fox first said that she would “barter with him.” She then, however, went on to say, “... and instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in Middle America?"

That was a mouthful, and sums up how the left feels about right. Gotta love these hollyweird harlots, who don't know when to shut their mouths. But now the cat is out of the bag, and I don't see any need to waste money on seeing Transformers part 2.

Sorry about the rant, a little off of the topic, I know, but I had to vent.

God Bless and stay safe

Robert, I just saved a copy of this post as a pdf, hope you don't mind.

I have never been a fan of the League of Nations/United Nations concept. They seem like good ideas on paper, but they just don't seem to translate well in practice.

I always wondered how Europe allowed Hitler to grow into the monster he became. Now, I see for myself in living color, how the appeasement policies emboldened him like nothing else.

Unless there is a dramatic change in policy, I am afraid we will see history repeat itself.

Ask the Christian minority population of the arab world, about all the love that islam shows them.

We read about all that good loving here, the muslims just love'em to death.

And when they run out of Christians, Jews, Buddhist, etc... to love... they will love themselves to death, too.

Shia loves Sunni...sitting in a tree....k-i-l-l-i-n-g... first comes love, then comes the bombs...

In the immortal words of Daffy Duck ... Oh brother....

Wow, the power of positive thinking. If these guys keep repeating something, in this case a lie, enough times they (the muslims), will actually start believing it.

Maybe, they should try this than... the kufir is my friend, and I will love him as a brother.

Yeah... I know it's a stretch... but, BO promised hope and change...

Surely, there will be world peace once these issues are resolved. Kashmir and Palestine have so much to contribute to the world economy.

They can produce...ah...um... suicide bombers and terrorism. Nothing else I can think of...

More islamic countries that need American dollars to survive.. or in reality... extort.
Shut up, pay us now, or we kill you.

Great.... just what the world needs... more crazed muslims with advanced nuclear weapons... what could go wrong?

They obviously need the advanced plutonium missiles to keep the marauding Indian Army at bay....sarc/

What will our concerned global citizen aka obama, do to prevent this from happening.

Keep raising our taxes to prop up the taliban...

Does BO know that we can't pay taxes if we're all dead, even if ACORN registered the dead to vote for him.

Rusty has now decided to take a stand on the pulpit of morality, and feels that Wilders is a fascist because he wants to ban the quran, which according to Rusty is a detriment to freedom of press/expression to muslims.

Well Rusty forgets that he leads the charge in shuting down islamic websites and youtube videos, which I think is great and has been at times very funny. But Rusty can't have it both ways.

Rusty has found a moral compass, I don't know who it belongs to, but he should return it.

Otherwise, why would it be OK for him to shut down websites that are islamic and he finds offensive, but Wilders can't speak about banning a violent ideology, that he finds offensive.

There is no difference in what Rusty and Wilders, and for that matter the rest of us, desires.

Rusty's train has gone off the track, he can't accuse people of trying to do, what he is actively doing today.

Hope he finds his way back.

I agree, at least he allows for dissent, ...for now.

But that door has been opened, and will be hard to control. CAIR and their ilk read these blogs too. If they see an opportunity to exploit dissension within the ranks, they will use it for all it's worth.

No sense in giving them any fuel for the fire. We will be the only ones to get burned.

And "the jawa report" is not too far behind CJ. Jawa just ran a huge article about Wilders being a fascist titled:

"Cheers for Geert Wilders' Bravery at Standing Against the Islamist Tide, Jeers for his Fascist Tendencies" at http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/197486.php

What is happening to this movement, suddenly these guys are turning on friends. Trying to create a divide. Is this the work of CAIR, or some other entity?

Jawa says he doesn't like Wilders because he wants to ban the quran, which in Jawa's view is fascist. Wilders is as much a fascist, as those who are throwing that label around.

Now is not the time to start splitting hairs on the small details. When...if... we overcome the sharia creep, then we can work out the details.

Hillary is an islamophobe...

she refuses to allow the sunni's to have nuclear weapons, but she is fine with the shi'a arsenal.

What are the chances of seeing that headline, in some newspaper?
