What I don't get is this: The majority of you are commenting because these guys are mexican, and illegal immigrants. And its not just a few people, it's the majority. That's how all of these threads are, when it comes to drugs, we all know that illegal immigrants and mexicans are responsible for it much of the time. Same with rapes, robberies, etc. I notice this same attitude when talking with friends and family in real life. Even some of my mexican friends are sick of the illegals and drug runners giving them a bad name. So.... since a majority of you of comment on it and want something done about it, why isn't it done? I would venture to guess that a majority of Oregonians feel they are tired of seeing all these illegal immigrants committing crimes day after day, and they want to do something about it. But when a public light is shown on them, they DENY IT. Why? Because apparently being called a racist is the most horrible thing in the world. Apparently most people don't want the other people to call them racist publicly, by people who secretly share the same views. What I am saying is, instead of signing up for some messageboard anonomously, stand up and DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. DONT BE AFRAID TO BE THE FIRST PERSON TO CROSS THE CROSSWALK, THE OTHERS WILL FOLLOW! And by "do something" I don't mean something illegal or bad, I mean start pressuring our local government to stop this!! They're trying to get your votes and maybe if you used this power wisely, something would get done.

This is exactly why this sort of thing happens all the time. He was let off lightly the first time, then the 2nd time he killed someone. Now, three years later, he'll be back on the streets doing it again. This is what's wrong with this state. If he would have stolen money from some company or had some weed on him, he would be doing some real time.

So we stop producing weapons in this country, cutting out tens of thousands of people out of jobs, destroying entire communities, and then we'll have to pay more money to outside countries to arm our police and military? This is just asinine. I'm not a smoker and I never have been, so I'm saying this as a non smoker: GET OFF THEIR BACKS. It's like they keep forcing smokers around like a herd of sheep and marginalize them everywhere. I couldn't care less if someone is smoking in a park, just like I dont care if someone urinates in the ocean. The likelihood of my breathing in any smoke is so small... it's just stupid. I'm against it because I think it's just another form of government control. Slowly it just keeps getting worse and worse, little by little. We are the toads in pot of boiling water folks. And chewing tobacco?? Can someone explain to me how some guy walking with chew in his mouth is going to give my kids cancer?

This guy will be walking the streets 2.5 years after he's caught. Gotta love Oregon's soft side - sexual predators. That's why this guy was walking the streets and able to do this in the first place. Just look at the guy who raped a 14 year old in Forest Grove, plead out and gets probation, no jail time at all. This state is a joke.

I honestly believe Mr Jones is being charged because he's "annoying" the police officers and they feel he is getting in the way of them doing their job. You can argue how effectively they do that job, but it's clear they dont want his help either way. http://vimeo.com/30307440 If you watch the video you will see this: 1. Jones and his friends trying to break up a fight. Do they have a right to? Who knows. But the fighters quickly turn on them. 2. Women assaulting people flagrantly. Yes they aren't hitting them hard, but the point is they are perfectly comfortable assaulting these people and screaming out "rape" at the top of their lungs. Perhaps this isn't erroneous thinking considering they weren't charged with anything. In other words THEY GOT AWAY WITH ASSAULT AND FALSELY YELLING RAPE. And they learned nothing that night that would prevent such things from happening in the future. 3. You will also see a person driving a BMW and not only trying to hit someone but ACCELERATING TOWARDS THEM. How is this not attempted murder? 4. 11 minutes into the video you finally see the police arrive, after several 911 calls. Keep in mind that this footage was edited because the cameraman was slammed into the wall so some time was lost there. 11 minutes and they decide to arrest the guy in the costume who was being beaten the whole time? I can see why they are reluctant to file charges. It's clear the police made a huge mistake with this one.
