I thought that Nina's wall was gorgeous until the swirly gray lines were added. In afterthought, I wondered if she was attempting to simulate smoke which gave it a jazzy effect. But overall the wall was perfect without the added swirls. Stacey's wall was okay, not great and she should have been sent home last week for spending the entire time painting the wood on that chair! The rest of the space didn't really stick in my memory possibly because it was basically nondescript no doubt. I think Nina's wall helped her team win the competition this week. Emily may be right about Nina's ego, but I wish people would stop character assassinating Nina! The men's space was a little off the wall(no pun intended) Each individual area had its own merit, but it didn't connect as a space too well. For instance, Tom's area was visually appealing but it didn't mesh with the space as a whole. And what's with Vern Yip's ripping comments(as usual) to Courtland about his wall looking like an exploding clown!! Lighten up Yip!! I like Candace Olson's designs and Genevieve's designs have come up a notch. Vern Yip used to be nice. He did Deserving Design for those who most needed help but I think his niceness went out with the show. I definitely liked Coutland's design and outfit the best so I guess I agree with the judges on that one. The women weren't all that bad. Nina totally fizzled out this week. She needed to add more color and I thought her middle name was dominatrix there for a minute. Very domineering. I agree with her being in the bottom two although the dress was kinda cool. Very ornate. She didn't pull it off. That Tera was sent home totally blows in my opinion. Stacey should have been sent home for lack of effort and lack of design, input, etc. I liked Tera's outfit and I thought the bedroom was okay. Stacey didn't even try! I felt that we didn't get to see enough of the men's rooms. Casey "forgot the plaid" according to Vern. And that he should applaud Stacey's chair and call Tera's Big Bird!!! Go figure!! I think I liked Courtland's, Nina's and Tera's outfits the best and the Fila suit then the leopard. That order. The rest were kind of zilchville. Poor Alex really fizzled out on that Bridal number! Stacey and Nina should have been in the bottom 2. (then Alex) Candace did look stunning in that orange dress and heels and last week in the pink and black. I also think that the judges maybe don't like hues of reds, pinks and purples. Trent's room was clean, bright, airy and pretty and made Dan's room who ranked in the top 6 (according to the judges) looked kind of boring. Even though I wasn't mad for that color of green, I thought Tera's room was balanced and very aesthetic. I rated her in the top 3. I really liked Courtland's and Tom's rooms. I felt they were visually rich and stunning in many ways and felt they didn't deserve to be in the bottom 6. I also thought that Courtland really did pull of Bohemian chic. I felt that Trent's room was clean looking, bright and very pretty. His choices of accessories were very pretty I thought. Tom's room was very red but visually kind of stunning. Trent's room as well as others made Dan's room (top 6) look boring even though his was okay. Trent's room was so much more wow than Dan's room and Candace talked about the wow factor yet Dan won over Trent. Go figure. Candace asked, "where's the wow factor?" Trent's wow factor far exceeded Dan's in my opinion. Julie's room was very bad and Emily's room was awful! I'm sorry, but Emily's room was downright ugly. The very bottom 3 were in my opinion were Emily, Julie and Alex, in that order. I felt that Julie's room was ridiculous. Maybe some of my comments aren't the nicest, but these whole elimination processes in these new shows are mean and insulting.
