World In Conversation : What a man is...

I totally agree with C in defining some of the qualities a woman look for in a man, because it has become so prevalent that all a woman needs is sex and money and should accept whatever a man is doing even of it makes them unhappy and miserable, I should say unacceptable egoistic behaviors. I think that's the reason they are so many single women today. Also some women do not know their self-worth and settle for less than they deserve. To break this cycle, women need to respect and love themselves enough to stop selling themselves short. As C mentioned in his letter that these are qualities of an ideal man. It is sad to see that this man had to be in prison to realize what his woman wanted from him, but I do like his positive outlook on the issue. I am sure there are women out there who carry themselves with dignity and pride and are being respected for being classy and stick up for what they believe in. Most men think that women are submissive and controllable and never think about her feelings and values. It is also disturbing that society plays a major role with what's going on in our community today, especially music videos where women are portrayed as being promiscuous. One can see that some women are all for that kind of lifestyle, they think that makes them someone special. I know for sure that I am definitely not going to be one of those women who tolerate being disrespected by some dude who calls himself the coolest person, has multiple women and the one everyone wants to be with. Sometimes, I wonder what is this world becoming with the actions being portrayed by men and also women today? I am not saying that they are not men out there with the qualities that woman look for in a man but wish more men would be that way (vice versa).

World In Conversation : Family

I can understand that living in this world is not easy, but also imagine being in a room the size of a prison cell for the rest of my life. We all sometimes tend to be content with situations surrounding us for a short time, some forever. This depends on the individual. Being a lifer is different situation, knowing all that comes with it. I realize the best thing in life is to have family support also friends. The latter may not be that strong but some of us are fortunate to have those friend that stick with you in the good time and the bad, this is known as true friends. We also make friends in new environment. I am elated that most lifers are thinking and sending out positive vibes to us who are out ad feel that we are free as a bird in the air. Also that they can share their stories so that many of us who thick that they are guilty and should suffer the consequences. I vividly remember this quote " the innocent shall pay for the guilty". It was happening and still is. Sometimes we act without thinking and regret our action that cannot be taken back, so we are put in a position that the only thing left to do is accept the change and make the best of it. I am a strong believer in bonding with loved one also to let them know when they are right or wrong. But still stick with them and it is refreshing to know that these lifers still have their family support. I have read a lot of these letters from the lifers and it is sad to see that being where they are today is where they have realized their mistakes but they are helping others not to make the same mistake, be serious about your future, follow your dreams ( since theirs are now doomed). We can learn from others mistake and make ourselves examples which in later days can be passed down to the future generation.

World In Conversation : Kids getting Life. How does this contribute to our security and well-being?

I will start by saying it is a good thing when someone can realize their mistake and ask for forgiveness, since we have a God that is very forgiving, (To those who believe in him). And remember we cannot turn back the hands of tie but make the best of what we have left. We do hope others will learn from our experience that we share, because being in prison for life is something you do not want happening to someone else. You have to accept life as it is and move on to do better. You sometimes do make silly mistakes, not intentionally but for whatever reason we just react to the moment which is terribly regretted by almost everyone I know.

World In Conversation : FEAR

After reading this article I realize that even the ones that committed the most dangerous thing ever is living in fear, which makes me think that whatever he did that cause him to be in jail and even to have a life sentence is one that he terribly regrets. I do not know what happened but from the lifers letter he expressed all that he fears and to think that someone like him have fears is huge. This shows that it doesn't matter how big, powerful or dangerous you are, everyone experiences fear. I have come to realize that not only is he human but has a heart also and the impact of being in this position has lead him to believe that he can conquer his fears in life by doing right. These lifers even though they are locked away they still have hope that someday something miraculous could happen due to the teachings by their pastors, family and friends who still give them hope and support but the fear still exist. Sometimes we think that we are the only one in a situation only to find out we are not alone. This is where we have to surround ourselves with positive people so that we can make ourselves better also conquer or fears. The reality is somethings that we have done cannot be corrected but we can ask for forgiveness and move on to better things in our life. Even though fears will continue to follow us since it is life experience, we have to sort out what is the right thing to do based on the pros and cons

World In Conversation : Suicide in Japan - 001 Blog

From a sociological viewpoint, I will tell you that the mere thought of committing suicide is giving up on life, which is everything and everyone within you and around you. Come to think of it, it is very scary. One need to come to terms with their fears and all the negatively they will encounter. Here you need to take a step back think about all the basic things in life you have accomplished and what are your expectations. In today's world, it is very depressing with everything that is going on but we can look at life in a different perspective and all the positivity that comes with it.Imaging being surrounded by family and all who care for and love you. Think of all the moral support you will receive. Here is where you have to make a conscious decision on where should I go from here. Be active in your community, join groups and surround yourself with people who will make a difference in your life not only socially but also mentally. Think positive and always hope for the best. Sometimes we lapsed, but we have to take a grip and turn in the direction which will lead us to a place where we not only be comfortable but is enjoying life and making progress. Always remember that nothing in life is easy. We have to work hard for what we want to have. Some of us may be fortunate. Look at the road, some parts are straight, some narrow, not always wide, there is curves also. We all know that it was made that way for a reason(s). Even though we all will depart this world someday, taking your life intentionally may seems like the best way to go, but think of the pain and sorrow you will leave behind with the people who love and care for you. Be strong and make conscious decisions that will not only make you you but the society you live in. Imaging
