Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

I feel that term limits are a good idea, but I understand what you mean. Even our founding fathers spent most of their lives devoted to serving the country. However, it seems the longer they are in office these days, the more they learn how to play the game. My senator, for example, has a great voting record; however, an enormous amount of pork legislation. I think that campaign reform would help. If we could cap the amount of fundraising a candidate could collect & guarantee equal TV time then maybe it would be easier to keep honest people in office & boot the two-faced incumbents.

good idea...unfortunately, with the way our local officials are, the money would disappear at the local & state level before making it to Washington. Sorry to be the cynic!

I agree 100%. This is an area that I feel Republicans are too weak. I would like to see a party emerge that understands how to overhaul the education system without making government larger or taxes higher. Our future as conservatives relies on our ability to educate our youth enough to have the sense to think for themselves. Unfortunately, in the past decades we have not been paying attention to the problems in our schools & have graduated classes that have no choice but to rely on the government because they weren't enabled with the fundamentals needed to contribute in a competitive marketplace. It's time to represent the needs of America's children, not the needs of teacher's unions!!!

I think we should compensate congress so people who aren't wealthy are encouraged to represent the desires of the people. We need to make some major changes in the way politicians run for office... 1. Add term limits to all offices. I think we all agree on this one! 2. Even the playing field in elections. A) Cap fundraising efforts. B) Even TV time. C) Only private CITIZENS can endorse a canidate. No CORPORATE endorsements. D) Each citizen can only give up to $10000 to a canidate. 3. This one is a wild idea. You would think that in this age of technology we could set up a national/state online survey for the constituents to decide how their REPRESENTATIVE votes. This way the government would actually represent the desires of most of us who consertatively sit in the middle. Let me know if you think this would work....
