Those of you "fans" cheering for Spain's elimination really should be hesitant to wish failure among these players

Defensive players rarely make it into these kinds of universal top player lists (even though THREE RM defenders made it) which is why I'm not surprised at the omission of Busquets. However, I don't think anyone outside of Madrid would argue that he deserves to be on this list less than Pepe. Pepe might be one of the only players on the planet who is more widely disliked than Busi.

Little known fact that Steve Nash is one owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps MLS franchise. Rumor has it that basketball is only his second favorite sport to soccer

Why would you wish such pain on the Argentinians?

Let's not forget that this CHILD is only 19 and spent his entire life under a microscope, and as WtF mentioned, was often dealing with racist groups first hand who were out to undermine his career. He's clearly supremely talented, which is why everyone cares so much in the first place and has a brilliant mind. How many different languages does he speak?

People seem to expect professional athlete children to act like adults, but he's not the first young athlete to make some tragic public displays without destroying their career.

From a Guardian article on Balotelli today:

"His gushing tribute to mamma was enough, according to Italian daily Corriere della Sera, to make Super Mario "more Italian than ever", a final rebuke to fans who hung a banner reading "a negro cannot be Italian" from the stands when Balotelli first made his mark at Milan club Internazionale."

After the France game I sent my Madridista friend a text "Get ready for a whole year of Iniesta and Alba marauding down the left" and less than a week later the deal is official. If he plays as good as he has for Spain, he will make an instant impact. Love it.
