What I should of said is that from what I've heard from some of the Islanders is they are so afraid that some "Rich" person will come in and RUIN the Island. When I've stayed at the Rosario we had such a fabulous time we couldn't wait to return. However Success breeds success, wouldn't it be great to see the Rosaro restored to its beauty. It will take a very wealthy person to do this, all rich people are not bad. Many rich people belong to charities to help others, lets all hope this is what happens. This is a very special place just like Lugano, Switzerland; Carmel, California; or Kaui, HI. Relax Orcas Islanders(I'm refering to the first bloggers listen to Island Grown your negative energy doesn't help. Property prices are up everywhere. If you own proerty on the Island you are probably a millionaire.

I find it interesting that many of the locals would rather see the resort purchased by someone who might turn it into Coney Island than put into the right hands and continue with the hotel and update it to a world class resort. I'm sure the employees will be out of work which is not good for any economy. Why do the islanders believe its "their" Island, all mainlanders are not BAD people. Many people who own land on Orcas have homes on the main land. If you don't want progress why don't you all move to Alaska and drive on the road to no where or purchase the Resort and Shut up.

What a bunch of stick in the muds. Rosario is a beautiful place, why wouldn't someone believe the person who purchases this great estate will make it better for everyone to enjoy. Why so negative? I thought this was a friendly neighborly island.
