From the Arizona ANG Website;
When Air National Guard units are not mobilized or under federal control, they report to the governor of their respective state, territory (Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands) or the commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard. Each of the 54 National Guard organizations is supervised by the adjutant general of the state or territory. Under state law, the Air National Guard provides protection of life, property and preserves peace, order and public safety. These missions are accomplished through emergency relief support during natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and forest fires; search and rescue operations; support to civil defense authorities; maintenance of vital public services and counterdrug operations.

Never mind.... The Arizona ANG is busy at the moment..
5/4/2010 - TUCSON, Ariz. -- As a vital partner for U.S. forces in Southwest Asia, Pakistan's air force will soon upgrade its 30-year-old fleet of F-16 Fighting Falcons. The pilots charged with flying more capable fighters are ready to handle the new technology after training with the Arizona Air National Guard.
When flying over the military ranges of Southern Arizona, Pakistan's pilots had experienced instructors to guide them; but back on the ground they relied on the unit's international military student office (IMSO) for help with housing, transportation, documentation and adapting to American culture.

Established under Title 10 and Title 32 of the U.S. Code
Air National Guard of the United States units or members may be called up for federal active duty in times of Congressionally sanctioned war or national emergency. The President may also call up members and units of state Air National Guard, with the consent of state governors, to repel invasion, suppress rebellion, or execute federal laws if the United States or any of its states or territories are invaded or is in danger of invasion by a foreign nation, or if there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the federal government, or if the President is unable with the regular armed forces to execute the laws of the United States.

Time to use the 214th Reconnaissance Group of the United States Air Force / Arizona Air National Guard located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. It is one of the first ANG units to fly the MQ-1 Predator. Since July 16, the 214th has flown the Predator over Iraq and Afghanistan from ground control stations in Tucson. Currently, the unit flies one combat orbit over Iraq on a continual basis flying 20 hours per day, seven days per week. Predator operations provide troops on the ground with both daylight and infrared video of selected targets. In addition, the aircraft is equipped with two laser-guided AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.

"We are no longer thinking about just destroying the enemy in a conventional way,"
"is the conclusion that the United States cannot completely eradicate the insurgency in a nation where the Taliban is an indigenous force, nor does it need to in order to protect American national security."
These are VERY disturbing comments... Looks like it is time to leave until we have some real men running this country. Just like when the Dems ran the VN show, bad results. Here we go again. Politics setting the ROE. Let's pray the Military can rise up against this political nonsense...
