Is anyone else tired of this "democrats won a clear majority", "Republicans lost big", "the country voted for change" crap? These elected officials need to be reminded that most of them DID NOT win by an overwhelming majority. Most of those races were very close. We are basically living in a 50/50 country in most places. When did bipartisan mean that majority does not have to listen to the 49.7% that did not vote for them? In fact, 62% of the people that voted for our Democrat Senator voted for John McCain, also. But he doesn't feel the need to pay any attention to that pesty detail. I am so tired of being ignored.

I LOVE the "VOICE" part of this.
Congress isn't hearing us anyway, so the second paragraph would have no effect, unfortunately.

This site is a beacon of hope - the real kind - for me. Drastic change needs to go to Washington DC. Here's what I fear though: Remember that Bill Clinton was elected with only 42% of the vote because of a third party splitting the vote. While I believe that there are Dems that are tired and frustrated with their party, it is the city dwelling liberals that carry the most weight when votes are counted. The rest of us need to be united, not just against them, but for someone "electable". Timing is everything and I worry about the timing of a third party emergence right now. For 2010, I believe we need to get as many dems out of power as possible. We need to stop the bleeding and restore some form of checks and balances. (Speaking of that - how can we, the people, get rid of all these czars?) I hate to use a government term, we do need to "phase in" that third party.
PS Didn't the media attack Sarah Palin for being at a Libertarian meeting of some kind? I know, there were so many attacks, it is hard to keep track....

Regarding the $1000 Owner Loyalty Certificates that Chrysler is sending out: Much more effective than shredding them or tossing them is to return them. I accompanied mine with a letter stating that I would be replacing my Dodge pickup with a Ford, Toyota or Honda when the time comes. It is important to let them know we do not support this government takeover and will not support the new company.

The "new" direction President Obama is taking us is right back to where we came from. Every drop of blood that has been spilled, every sacrifice made achieving and defending our freedom, all the way back to the Revolutionary War, will have all been for not. There are no words to express how so very sad that is.
Obama is moving fast because he knows 2010 is right around the corner. I just hope and pray that if the Republicans can get back the majority and balance things out, it will not be too late to put the brakes on and change the direction of this new direction.

If I were to buy a new car right now, I would make sure it was NOT GM or Chrysler. I would buy a Ford right now except that I have a Honda and it will be years before I need to replace it. It appears that my sentiment is shared by a large number of people (based on the favorable view of Ford in the poll). Once again, proving that our elected representatives - for the people, by the people - are not listening to the people! I am more frustrated with the political system than I have ever been in my 40 years of voting!
