Umm, I don't agree. To listen means that the kernel should keep open a port for an incoming connection. This is not at all "looking", and the load in terms of CPU is irrelevant (the kernel runs anyway and to listen one or one hundred ports is almost the same). It is different if push keeps a connection always on with the server, but in this case it is a meaningless technology because it is completely equivalent to fetch.

I'm confused now: why my phone is constantly looking for new information? As far as I understood the push should be the opposite: my phone is in listening (on some port I suppose) and the server push the new informations. No?

BTW, why the phone should consume more battery? If I well understood I only changed some certificate.

Probably the battery drains a bit faster. Another issue is that all my previous passwords are lost and I have to re initialize the services (wifi, email accounts etc.)

I'm sorry to write here but I don't know another way to report my feedback: the hack for push notification works perfectly. Thank you, as usual!

I agree with all of you that it is not an easy task, but MuscleNerd showed a working demo, so the work should be done. They told about a bug in the 3.0 but I don't think that the bug affect the baseband, so I don't understand why we are waiting. Anyway good job DevTeam!

any software is bugged with a rate, for excellent code, of 1 bug every 10000 lines of good code. But in general the bugs are not evident in few days of usage because before production the software is fully debugged and beta-tested. So I'm curious to know the bug that ipdtouch2g1994 found in this new release.
