Being an agent is one thing, but they believed she was the "director of forensics". That's a stretch for someone so young.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Mother furious after in-school clinic sets up daughter\'s abortion | KOMO News - Breaking News, Spor

As much as I would love to engage in this grade school game of "you're a this", and "your a that", and "you're turning our society into a sewer" (not sure where that comment came from, but whatever), I will stick to the story at hand. The fact is that this girl did something that is legal. No one here did anything illegal. As for having our laws reflect our morals, whose morals do you believe should dictate the law. You're no idiot, so you understand that everyone has different beliefs and morals. Some are more common sense than others, nonetheless, everyone is different.

I work in the medical field, and when we have prescriptions that the kids would have to take during school hours, they ALWAYS need a doctors note for the school to administer. Parental consent is not enough, they need a doctors note. A lot of people on here are bringing up situations of taking medication at school. Where this particular situation is different than taking medication, it's all about patient rights.

This is where I tell you that YOU are wrong. "In the eyes of the law" this girl does have the right to make her own decisions, medically speaking. She can go to the doctor and seek treatment without her parents knowing what it is about. Mom signed a consent to consult/treat, that's what happened. She may be a minor, but she has these rights, "particularly when it comes to her health". Dont' like it? Try to change the law. No one here did anything illegal.

Ibuprofen with parent's consent? No, they would need doctor's consent. The child (as long as she is over 13 yrs old) can get doctor permission for ibuprofen from her doctor without her parent's even knowing. The school requires doctor consent for medication administration, not the parent's consent. Like it or not, that's the way it is.

Unfortunately for you, the law disagrees. Legally, the mother does not have any rights in this case. Legally, her daughter is allowed to do this, whether mom wants her to or not. No matter whether you are pro-choice, or pro-life, the law is the law. Luckily this girl actually did seek medical attention, and went about this through those channels, rather than others that we hear about who end up hiding the pregnancy all along and throwing the baby out in the trash can or something. And, I'm sorry but, "you suck"? What are you - 5 years old?

Maybe - just maybe - the article discusses the Bogues because they were scammed by this group! (surprised gasps) It's hard to discuss a group who goes around scamming people if there are no victims making complaints. This story was about what the Washington Resolution Trust did. If you want people to not reply regarding the Bogues specifically (whom you've already written off as deadbeats, without knowing much about them) then maybe - just maybe - your first post should NOT have been focused on them (which it was).

I'm glad to see that you didn't let your childhood altercation color the rest of your life experiences. I hope this girl can do the same. With her mom being so "proud" of her, I have the unfortunate feeling that she will feel she did nothing wrong, and may actually repeat this behavior in some manner. We can all hope that she actually learns from this though.

However, physical altercations should not be your first conclusion to resolving a problem. In your situation, you had tried to talk to others and getting no help, took matters into your own hands (and after he assaulted you with a pinecone first). There is no mention that this girl tried any other avenue. If you believe what the boy says, that she asked him out and he said no, that is no justification for her doing this to him. And, quite honestly, who ISN'T called names, either in childhood or later in life? She should have tried to resolve it peacefully or tried to ignore him. I know it's hard to do, but she needs to find other ways to resolve these things and get on with her life, or she is in for a world of trouble the older she gets.

So, am I to assume that everyone here was a model citizen as a teenager? No one got into fights in school? Fights with siblings? Told your parents to "stuff it"? Lifted a candy bar when you were a kid? Yes, her past was possibly more checkered than yours. But can you say that if something like this happened to you, you would really just shrug your shoulders and say, "Well, that karma sure got me. Must've been from when I got into a fight with my best friend when I was 15. Lesson learned, karma!" No only that, but do you really think that the people who DIDN'T help her were really privy to her past? That they must've known she "deserved this"? You all sound like a bunch of priveleged babies. Let the nasty replies commence.

Well, I too know someone who works as a security guard, and where he may make "more than minimum wage", it's not by much. I'm not sure why you think that bringing weapons into a situation where none of the attackers were armed, or at least they didn't pull any weapons on the victim, would really help to calm the situation. I would not feel safe being "protected" by an armed security officer who learned to shoot in "just a few sessions" either. In case you're not up on your news stories, we have a few too many people out in the world who are armed and shouldn't be. That's not to say that EVERYONE who is armed is incompetent. I'm just stating that guns don't necessarily solve the problem. And you better believe if they pulled a gun on an unarmed 15 yr old girl, there would be some hefty lawsuits. Whether she deserves it or not.

Would you feel the same if your kid was the victim? Where someone's careless actions led to YOUR kid getting shot and is in serious condition at the hospital? Would you really shrug it off as "just an accident"? I can be honest enough with myself to say that I would be angry and I would expect the parent's to be charged.
