Daily Camera.com: : Boulder County DA to announce whether he\'s filing charges in Fourmile Fire - Boulder Daily Camera

Agreed. Just doesn't completely add up to me. The original fire would have had to be a monster to survive two apparent soakings with water and start so long after it was burning. Not sure where the inconsistency can be explained, but this accounting of events just doesn't quite add up.

I believe it is the reference at the beginning of the article stating that he "told colleagues on the day of the fire that he had no idea how it started, according to the Sheriff's Office report." one can read a lot into that statement, so I don't know exactly what's meant by it.

GazetteOnline.com : Bowl executive: Political reasons kept Iowa from Fiesta Bowl

I think my real issue with this is the honesty of Junker. He released so many statements about how excited they were to have BSU-TCU and etc. etc., and now it's a completely different story. Do we just have to wait for his memoirs to know how he REALLY felt, instead of having to listen to the story that changes with his PR agenda?

Daily Camera.com: : Ringo: Possible CU league shift depends on Big Ten - Boulder Daily Camera

To say that Baylor is far superior academically is a gross overstatement. You can debate back and forth between the two I think, but when CU is a member of the American Association of Universities and has numerous top 10 grad programs, and tons of top 50 grad programs, I don't really see how Baylor is far superior to that. Baylor's political power = the rich kid who gets his dad to call coach and get him some playing time, even though he's not the best on the team.

Daily Camera.com: : Bohn says CU, five other Big 12 schools likely to be invited to Pac-10 - Boulder Daily Camera

This conference reshuffling business is turning into one serious game of chicken. A western US-16 mega conference would dominate television. the championship game would be somewhat like the SEC every year, with major title implications. Really makes Big 10 look pretty lame for picking up Mizzou and Nebraska if this happens. If this 16 team conference happens, then they can just set a rule that the BCS title game every year will be Big Pac 16 vs. SEC champ every time.

This is ONE STUDY people! It is not THE study that solves the problem. Read the study yourselves and I'm sure it discusses limitations. The data limits what he could do, so it's just one very small piece of the larger puzzle. Other studies will inform the parts that he couldn't address, and it's doubtful any single study will ever definitively capture every piece of this issue. It is increasingly clear that those who fly off the handle about reports about something like this don't have any real understanding of social science. "Wull I know thar's gang problems ever'whar so this junk has tu be wrong. Science iz stupid."

elephant journal: Yoga, Sustainability, Politics, Spirituality. : Diabetics Research and New Implications for Health Care Legislation. ~ Marshall Williamson

While I think that his overall approach sounds very reasonable and has strong likelihood of being effective, I wish he was a bit more clear that this approach is most specifically geared to Type II Diabetes, which is the type that has increased in prevalence in the population. Type I Diabetes is autoimmune, and is not caused by poor health and fitness.

I seriously doubt everyone knows its illegal. I think the business sounds interesting, but for them to say they are going to go ahead with the plan even though the city is saying it is illegal AND that the homeowners, and not the company cashing in on the homeowners, are the ones liable is just super shady.
