What I'm saying is I'm not sure the lure is there for top talent to create new projects that people have zero urgency to watch. For example--bahiabob below mentioned Downton Abbey--yeah, you can stream it--but the overwhelming number of Americans watching it are doing so either when it airs or dvr'd recordings of it a day or two later (the way most Americans seem to watch tv these days, myself included). But they're discussing it at roughly the same time as it's being broadcast, not waiting months to watch the whole thing at once. (it's a water cooler show) Why would they need to switch to Netflix to watch a show they're already getting? (Heck, since it's on PBS you don't even need basic cable to get it as long as you have decent reception.) And it's arguably become a genuine cultural phenomenon through traditional broadcast channels.
