I was a smoker up until April 2009 when they raised the taxes. I didn't quit because I was incredibly motivated, I quit because I couldn't justify paying the amount of money they wanted for a pack. I have saved approximately $1,200 from April to now by not smoking (yes, I was a heavy smoker). I was a person who thought they could never quit. I was VERY addicted. But I have done it so far, and I have no intention of going back, even as a "social" smoker. You're either smoking or you're not. It DOES get better, and it DOES get to a point where you're not constantly craving a smoke.
