Blind Influence : Please Kill The AT&T iPhone Monopoly

Thanks for you comments. It's a little odd that this post keeps getting comments even though Verizon has now had iPhone for awhile, so the monopoly was broken awhile ago.

Blind Influence : Death Sucks, and We Forget That It'll Happen to Us Too

Thanks for taking a second to comment. I wanted to move my blog in more of a personal direction to mix with the business stuff. It feels good to be raw sometimes.

Blind Influence : Corporations at Risk From Increasing Social Media Adoption Issues

Thanks for the comment AJ. Yes, most companies (regardless of size) don't have much strategy rooting their marketing efforts; especially around social media marketing. As you mention, changes are moving so fast that it's hard to keep up and adapt, but that's what every business that wants to stay in business must do. The challenge for most businesses is that no one goes into business to be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, FourSquare, Pinterest, Google+, etc., but in the world we live in it's imperative to be there and be there with an understanding of how to best communicate with customers and visitors in powerful ways. Best, Brett

Blind Influence : Ignoring is an Irresponsible Communication Strategy

Thanks for your comment. It's astounding how common courtesy has eroded in society. I haven't been out of the states often enough to know if it's a meme that's shifted globally or not. Hopefully the pendulum will swing back at some point and those of us choosing connection and respect in our relationships will become the majority again.

Blind Influence : Stimulate the Economy by Forgiving Student Loan Debts

Rhyscurrency, yes it's a rigged game. Here's a great article by Catherine Austin Fitts. It lays out how Sallie Mae's board realized that there is more money in keeping students on the hook for paying loans than in having a system where they can actually pay them off. http://solari.com/articles/student_loans

Blind Influence : The Trouble with Facebook Fan (and Twitter Follower) Counts

Thanks. Glad you liked it. I love helping companies, and sometimes it's baffling how what seems like common sense is woefully missing in how they interact with the public and their customers.

Blind Influence : There is no Law in the 'Law' of Attraction

I only saw the word 'truth' used once, but as literary note I understand your point. Not that it matters, but I've never made a dime from blogging and my definition of marketing is to connect people to resources (people, books, movies, videos, websites, products, services, companies, etc.) that support what they're passionate about. (not sad). Thanks for your comment.

Good point Barrett. And Comcast has built on what Frank created. They're still renowned for how they use social media for customer service. Rock stars or not, we all grow out of positions and seek new challenges, so it's inevitable that even rock stars will have destinies beyond their current employers.

Facebook was just re-valued at $65million last week. Hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent on online target advertising tools, but Facebook is the king. If they tap into China it be way more than doubling profits. Thanks for the comment.

There's not much more to add to Shelly's reply aside from, 'why aren't they just human?' Doing the research and reaching out the way you would to someone online the same way you do IRL should be common sense.
Blind Influence : The Top Five Essentials For Your Social Media Strategy

It's not just giving yourself for free. It's also sharing valuable informaiton and resources and being human before trying to sell anything. When you connect on a human level and build a relationship it can lead to sales, but you can't go into conversations with the main intent of selling people. They'll smell it and run away. I'm not saying that you're doing that, I'm just mentioning it for others to note. You sharing your expertise will help your personal brand, brand awareness for your company and solidify your reputation as a knowledgeable person who can be trusted. The more you give, the more you get. It's great to hear that you're learning and applying tips and strategies in social marketing to help your business ...and you'll probably make some great friends along the way too.

Frank, Thank you for taking the time to comment here as well as to write your own post on this topic. I understand your disagreement about the public not hearing quite as much from you as before. No offense was meant. I was referring to how much press you were getting in a wave that naturally has a peak. It’s great to follow your trajectory, see how your team at Comcast continues to grow, as well as to see how your personal and professional brands evolve. Great interview with Brian by the way. One of the best lessons I’ve found in your story is the power of surrounding yourself with a great team of people, which you’ve always humbly acknowledged as a key factor in Comcast’s success. Best, Brett

Thanks for the comment Tomas. It seems basic, but it's important to remember that connection and communication are the grease that make social media marketing wheels spin around. The same skills that make us good people are the ones that make us great social media participants. Communication is an audience-centered art. Remembering that alone can do wonders for getting the most out of your social media efforts.
