Have you ever met Don Karr? He loves Cedar Rapids as much as his family and that is saying alot because he adores his family. He does not have a "holier than though" attitude. He has a "no nonense" attitude and it may come off as pompous. Just my two cents...

My! You are hel lbent on seeing Mr Nelson get charged! I understand you are angry, probably grieving your loss, and emotionally suffering but the COURT/POLICE will figure out if anyone gets charged. Natural emotional distress and anger over this sort of situation usually finds survivors of loved ones placing blame on anyone but their lost loved one. Whether Mr Nelson stopped or not would not have changed the outcome here.

I have personally been within ten feet of the BASE of one of the turbines they plan to install. The wind speed at that particular time was 25mph. I don't understand the unconstructive, cynical, and discouraging comments. Until the nay-sayers have actually been to an installation, this is all gossip and hearsay.

The turbines they plan to install do not and cannot use gas so they won't be "fired up" when the wind is not blowing.

I have personally been within 10 feet of one the turbines they plan to install. The noise sounds like a gentle hum from an electric fan on a hot summer day. It is white noise, barely audible. The neighbors who have an issue with the possible noise levels should go to an actual installation and hear the turbines first hand instead of b*tching what "could be."

"...and renovated the main floor..." I wonder if they spoke to an engineer (or architect) BEFORE their renovation? Load bearing walls are put in place for a reason. They're not constructed just to mess up your open floor plan dreams.
