Perfect! Because yes, indoor plumbing is an essential exception.

Seriously, did any of you spend a lot of your childhood in a state of permanent anger at the existence of modernity? Like, cars and paved roads and sneakers made me SO MAD. I wanted to live in my fake-historical / fantasy world, which was full of fluttering gowns and dirt roads and horses and the like. Everything I saw that didn't fit offended me.
