Second, I'd just like to point out that saying "not to offend anyone" is a surefire way to let people know you're about to say something that will likely offend them; if you really want to try not to offend people (which isn't always going to work, because some people just TRY and take offense to things), say something like: "While I do not think less of anyone who disagrees with me, my opinion on the matter is..." You want to show people that you still respect their opinions, even if they're different than yours. I like dA, but much more for the visual arts than the literary. Granted, I've seen some pretty good stories on there, but if you're writing MLP fanfics specifically, I'd highly recommend starting on FiMFiction. As SilentBelle already stated, you're very likely to get instant feedback; while I cannot guarantee the same success, in under a day of my first chapter of my first fic going up I had 10+ favs, around the same thumbs up, and 3-4 comments from other users.
