You're right that it's going to get more attention coming out of Bellevue. You're also right that that's not going to be a popular opinion. Though I think the attention it brings is sometimes healing for the family in hopes that the hype could lead to preventing the death of another kid on a similar path. Also, getting the word out of a harsh penalty might lead others to stop dealing. I just hope now that they claim to have abandoned the War On Drugs they will start one hell of a battle on this certain drug. Oxy's and other painkillers are leading kids to serious addiction which opens up the prospect of heroin. It's rampant. I mean does anybody not know at least somebody effected by this? It's an epidemic that needs to be handled. If everybody wakes up tomorrow thinking their kid could be next, well then maybe people will open their goddamn eyes and start to do something about it. They have major DUI problems there partially due to having the nation's largest Navy Base in Norfolk. Bars there would give out window stickers to people who wanted to leave their cars parked and grab a cab home. I'm not sure if the bars paid for the stickers or not, so I suggested they could just open up next day rates so the city wouldn't loose their precious dollars. It's great this is being done, at least somebody is listening.
