This is pretty good. I'd probably go with "District Three Horse – Don't you know our ponies?" I'm wondering if the 3-chome here might be a Hunger Games thing; not sure how that's been translated over. I'm guessing it's a creator name.

There's a lot of detail, yeah, but he gets into some pretty cool technical stuff. Your loss if you're not up for reading it.

Translation on that last bit:

"Did you think it was some cute girl? No way! It was Glasses Applejack!"

(Hi! Author here!)

There are some small changes, too, based on EQD comments and a few other things. A bit of reworking around the ending. A couple rather serious problems I managed to overlook the first time around. I'll hopefully be talking about that in a Fimfiction blog sometime in the next week, but I'm still waiting/hoping that Nadnerb will put together some new art for the story, too, and I want to wait to see if anything happens on that front.

The TS/CK juxtaposition may have changed a tiny bit in context, too, but I'm really hoping it still works the way it did before, because I agree, that was a strong point. Hoping the changes helped to bring that out more (but a little worried they might have muddled it, since being an author usually seems to involve some amount of sitting around hoping you didn't just do something stupid.)

Actually, the Amazon sales on the EQG figures have been selling out in more like 30 SECONDS, not 30 MINUTES.

But they're only dropping the price to $8, so there's not a lot of reason to bother trying for them, since plenty of other places are selling EQG that low already.

Bad translations really pain me. Try this on for size:

More fun than you can handle, in the super-lovely world of My Little Pony

This is a book about the world of "My Little Pony" that'll totally knock you out. This comic was drawn just for Pucchigumi Magazine. As a bonus, we've got instructions for styling the hair of your pony toys and puzzle pages like mazes and [さがしっこ].

Whether they learned about My Little Pony from the anime or from its overseas popularity, Japanese fans will treasure these stories. We can recommend this book to elementary school kids and older MLP fans alike.

From the Editor – "Japanese MLP fans, the wait is over! This series, tremendously popular and famous overseas, has now been transformed into a Japanese-style comic. Beyond what's been serialized, there are new comics here, tips for playing with your pony toys, [さがしっこ] , and mazes for you to enjoy!"

-------------------------------------

Couldn't figure out [さがしっこ]. It's got to be some sort of search puzzle page thing, like maybe a word search or a visual identification thing? But it's not a word I recognize.

Oh, it's fine. It's my bad for completely missing the fact that people would misinterpret the title as referencing that rather than Sherlock Holmes. I should have seen it coming—that book was pretty popular—but I always think of the Sherlock Holmes reference and it just never occurred to me that a lot of people would read it differently.

I get the feeling people think the title is referencing something it isn't. Are you thinking of the Asperger's Syndrome novel or the original Sherlock Holmes quote that novel's title is based on?

The reference is more to the Sherlock Holmes quote, though the story is still based on Iain M. Banks' culture novels, rather than either of the above.
