affix arrow with an ordinary brass fastener available at any office supply store for $2 a pckg of 25...that way you can spin it in the appropriate direction...or I can just send you the one I made since I don't think we'll see the likes of the person we used it on very soon. Nice picture. I've only been able to go there once...but I've never in my life been so affected by a "place" like I was there. Overwhelming sadness took a hold of me when I read the names--especially seeing the multiple last names & knowing brothers died together there. Don't know for sure if I was feeling my own love for my siblings or somehow experiencing theirs, but it was powerful. What I felt was not the recognition that they were going, but that they knew their brothers were...really hard to describe the feeling.

It seems that we have a similar view: that we can not let the sacrifices of the people before us be legislated away either by intent or by apathy! I posted this on an earlier BG post, but it seems more appropriate here...I am making a plea to my fellow BG companions/posters, especially those in Ohio: Could you help me? I am struggling to make ends meet myself, but with every spare nickel I am doing whatever I can to preserve our liberty and bring Constitution education to my community. Four of my friends and I started this: http://www.constitutionweekcolumbus.org/index.htm.... Its a small thing, I know, but I'm inspired by our founding fathers that if I CAN do something, I MUST do something! Could you help me spread the word? Could you spare $5 to help us build displays and pass out pocket Constitutions? We emptied our savings to file the non-profit paperwork so that donations could be tax-deductible. A local website company donated the site and my family is building a giant Constitution & Declaration of Independence. A local artist is donating her skills to paint tents to create replicas of the buildings that represent The Separation of Powers. I feel so strongly that we must do SOMETHING and start SOMEWHERE to educate and preserve that which so many sacrificed so much to secure. (And to quote a Christmas song: If you haven't got a penny then a ha'penny will do, if you haven't got a ha'penny, then God Bless You!)

Thats a great idea...I'll start working on that! We are trying to have a week of events centered around Constitution Day--capped off by a Saturday afternoon fair that people can bring their families to and have fun while learning. We are hoping that by making it fun and positive, we can instill a love for the Constitution in the little ones and inspire the next generation to keep the torch of Liberty burning! There is so much to do and so many worthy cause in our immediate future, but we wanted this project to focus on the long-term! A lot of students find history boring and can't relate it to their lives today--it is our hope that this will make an impact early on in their lives that they will take with them as they grow up!

Have you read David Barton's book "American History in Black & White"? Amazing stuff I never knew before...like the fact that there were documented 4,743 lynchings...and of these, 3446 were black, 1297 were white...essentially, they were killed for attempting to support Republicans. (Almost a third of the book is footnotes/source material)

I just finished American History in Black and White...fantastic! I was truly shocked to learn that between 1182 and 1964 there were 4,743 documented cases of Americans lynched...and that of those 3,446 were black and 1,297 were white. (Seems as though the one thing common in all of the cases was that they were all trying to vote for or supportive of the Republicans.)

Everyone needs to get personally involved in restoring The Constitution. About a year or so ago, I had an important transformation: I went from saying "If we want to save our freedom, people are gonna have to do something" to "If I want to save my freedom, I am going to have to do something" Then I found 4 other people who agreed and we started an organization to educate our local community about The Constitution. I've been struggling financially for the last couple years, but whatever I do have, including every spare moment of time, is worthless without freedom. I can live with being (relatively) poor, but I will not live as a serf--so I pledged my life, my fortune (or lack thereof) & my sacred honor! Somewhere, somehow...there is someone very close to you who is doing the same thing....join them!

Is it possible that its finally sinking in to Congress that the Executive branch is attempting to render them irrelevent? Has there been any commentary on this from the "MSM" (I don't even bother watching anymore)...however, I did come across this CNN article in 2005 while researching Constitution Day: http://www.cnn.com/2005/EDUCATION/09/16/constitut... Note the 6th paragraph: "...and nearly half of the students surveyed incorrectly believe that the government has the authority to censor the Internet." Note the use of the word "incorrectly". What is CNN saying about it now?

Is it just me, or do Liberals seem to have a problem grasping the difference between "want" and "need"...or is that just a matter of maturity? My dad & I were flipping through a photo album and came across a picture of me when I was 14..Dad said "Oh I even remember those shoes...weren't those the ones that you Neeeeeded or you would just diiiiieeee??" Glad to say it didn't take the whole 30 years since to grow up!
