Yeah, you're right. Could something be done along Broadway? That isn't a part of town people walk in a lot because it's just so unpleasant to walk there. If they took the sidewalks and turned them into a bike lane on one side of the road and left the sidewalks on the east side, would it work? Alternatively, could they just take part of the sidewalk and right of way for the bike path and leave a sidewalk that was just a few feet wide on each side? There aren't so many people walking in that part of town that they need a double wide sidewalk. It's not like downtown.

The other Catch 22 is that the more cars that are here, the less people want to ride and then we just end up with more cars. I love riding, but find the Creek Path too crowded and in parts, dangerous. I don't like having to cross 28th or go along 28th to get to Boulder's major retail There is a great underpass from the creek path that goes south to campus at 28th and they spent millions to make it. Seems like all the good biking passes are for students and not so much for the people who would make short trips around town if it were a little more accessible. Actually, accessible isn't right. Safer. I go long routes on my bike if it's a safer route and don't mind it as I enjoy riding. But seems like all bike routes for non-students, like from North Boulder to Whole Foods or Central Boulder to 29th Street mall-places we got for our retail activities, have some part of the route that you're taking your life into your hands to go. Not worth it to me to end up crippled.
Would you take a bike route from North Boulder if it were safer, but longer and not as direct as Folsom? Like if they took away the sidewalks on Broadway and then funneled you into an underpass to get on to the creek path, to then shoot you out on 28th?
How many people walk Folsom anyway? Couldn't they have just taken a few feet of sidewalk for a bike path and left just a single lane sidewalk?

I think I'd say the same thing about humans at this point.
Thanks Dave for your empathy towards something that has as much right to be on the planet and reproduce as you do.

Kind of hard to stroll down Pearl Street now-at least the two ends that are past the pedestrian mall. Too many bikes and cafes that have pushed out on to the street for the amount of people there. Can't wait for the nightmare Camera building to crowd it out more.

I don't care that they're making a profit.
But the fact they want to make a profit by taking over our neighborhoods and the excuse is affordable housing is hypocrisy.
They should just come out and say we're profiteers and FU. I'd at least have more respect for them.

Taking bets Greed-lee has never read A Tale of Two Cities. Taking another bet over here that he had to Google that quote.

If Greed-lee knew what Two Cities was about, he wouldn't be using it to start of this article to win this particular argument.

No surprise that One P Boulder's donors are all big corporate with business interests, some of them out of state. Lots of architects, real estate agents, real estate investors.

Livable Boulder's financing is coming from small contributions from regular people in town.

What's shameful is to see that many of the small donors are Matt Applebaum, Will Toor, Jan Burton, Andrew Shoemaker, Tim Plass, Macon Cowles, They don't mind opposing most of the citizenry and joining the list of big corporate donors. So much for their "pledge to listen". The better hearted of them would just consider that poor sportsmanship to be on council and trying to crush a citizens initiative, but none of that bunch has a good heart. If you ever saw the crappy way Matt looked when regular people came to speak versus his utterly effusive affection for Will Toor when he came to the podium, you'd get it.

Not to be confused with B Bikes. Or saving Bees in Boulder.

Take a look at the people contributing to Open Boulder's coalition and take a look at Livable Boulder. One is mostly corporate donors. One is mostly small citizen contributions.
Applebaum, Shoemaker and Cowles all contributed to defeat 300 and 301. Most of the rest of the contributions came from large corporate donors.
And of course Espinoza, Will Toor, Zane Selvans,

Other people who donated to the Open Boulder Coalition.

-Richard Polk of the Pedestrian Company. When Richard was in office he said he was concerned about Boulder Junction. He's changed his tune.

I agree that I'm tired of organizations with Boulder in the name. Or races for that matter. Or maybe just the name Boulder in general.

Ironically his slogan is "Don't Divide Boulder".
Lol.
The guy is evil, Big Brother-ish and Machiavellian.
