Daily Camera.com: : Many pot-business marriages end with bad divorces - Boulder Daily Camera

Knowing the situation of Infused Product Manufacturers (MIP) operating outside of Denver, like Keef Cola, the City of Boulder and State of Colorado are equally to blame for not providing the services necessary to keep the businesses alive. Denver requires that "Infused" manufacturing facilities are inspected for quality standards at a local or state level in order for the businesses to sell their products into the Denver market. The State and City took a ton of money from Infused Product Manufacturers (MIP) in licensing fees and taxes then refused to provide adequate inspection services. This situation shut down almost every manufacturing company in Boulder and other municipalities where there was no access to food inspection services. The majority of the lawsuits in the MMJ industry stem from poorly written rules, weak implementation and shady characters.

Legalize 2012- Anyone continuing to support the flawed US Drug Policy that funds privatized jails and corrupt bureaucracies should be forced to pay an additional 5% income tax and be forced to live in Juarez, MX to feel the wrath of the drug war first hand. LEGALIZE 2012

Capone's successors are the big liquor companies still operating today, that you purchase your poison from everyday and kill hundreds of thousands yearly (along with your brain cells). The successors of Al Capone on the marijuana side live South of our border and operate illegally, killing thousands every year to exploit the US Drug market (aka not under State or Federal law). Once again your ignorance amazes me and I owned you again. MOVE TO FLORIDA! Question- Do you believe in AZ Gov. Jan Brewer's decision to secure her State's border against Federal laws?

Daily Camera: Letters to the Editor : Judith Ansara Gass: Medical marijuana coverage

As one of those pictured in the paper yesterday, I could not agree more!!! My infractions were misdemeanor varieties that occurred in my early twenties. Having been born and raised in Boulder, CO this has been a very hard couple days. Their was no need to sensationalize the article with mug shots. Very poor form on the part of Erica Meltzer and Heath Urie. In addition, the editor of the Daily Camera should be ashamed of him/herself for allowing this type of unnecessary journalistic tactics to prevail.

Your arguments are against both.... Once again read the link below from the National Cancer Institute (a division of the National Institute of Health) on the medicinal qualities of cannabis. Every response you post is further proof of your ignorance and overall low IQ. How much booze have you drunk today? You are the problem with society no the other way around. Cannabis has proven medicinal qualities for pain management, cancer treatments, MS, Crohns, etc... Most prescription medicine on the market today is for the treatment of "Severe Pain." In parallel, most medicinal marijuana cards are prescribed for "Severe Pain." I own you...... http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/cam/cannab...

Prop 19 almost passed.... and legalization will soon pass everywhere. Medical and legalization are two entirely different scenarios. Look at the polls on medical above. Seventeen states and the District of Columbia have medical marijuana laws. Your arguments are thin and weak, just like your intellect.... Like most against the legitimate uses you ignore facts and purport lies. Remember Arizona Prop 203 in 2010?

You are as ignorant as it gets, how about the response to your alcohol problem? Marijuana has never been directly attributed to one death by overdose. How many people die everyday from booze and legal prescription pills that the pharmaceutical companies push down our throats? Comparing firefighters or doctors to DEA agents is a joke... Once again Marijuana does not kill people. You are clearly a delusional old tool.... who loves the cartels, is probably a federal agent (or retired agent), enjoys subsidizing the bureaucratic mess we call the DEA, and chokes down 4-5 toadies a day.... ....By the way, Marinol has severe side effects not found in the natural plant. Cannabis has been utilized as a natural medicine for thousands of years. Uneducated tools such as yourself should be banned from certain areas of society or forced to live in Florida. You probably fashion yourself as some kind of conservative or a Republican. I can assure you sir you are in the minority on this issue even in your own party. As a young conservative, the ancient beliefs and rhetoric of your generation are leaving this planet everyday (you are the reason we lost the last election). The current federal MJ policies are as fiscally unsound as any ever produced. They fund private sector prisons, cartels, and big government. Wake up!

These two reporters are as bad as it gets. Pasting peoples pictures in the newspaper like sex offenders, disclosing the locations of cultivation sites (earlier this year) and generally lying to sell papers. Erica and Heath you should both be ashamed of yourselves for printing trash like this. You are both a joke and should be stripped of your "journalistic powers."

You are the only dupe I truly see on here. Q. How did prohibition work for alcohol? A. We got Al Capone and the basis for decades of La Cosa Nostra.... Q. How has prohibition worked so far with Marijuana? A. It has led to the most violent criminal regimes in the history of our planet. The cartels generate over 70% of their revenue from the trafficking of marijuana into this country. These same cartels are responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent people every month. Your little dream of a drug free utopia is a joke. MJ has been around as long as alcohol. You are probably the same tool who slugs down 2-3 toadies or high balls every night while spewing crap like your anti-cannabis propaganda. The DEA has every reason to fear the end of prohibition as 70% of their funding is too fight marijuana, like any good bureaucratic organization they are in it for themselves and no one else. As a taxpayer this is unacceptable and a conflict of interest. To summarize: You believe in paying high taxes, funding vast criminal cartels and have an alcohol problem. IYour own DEA propaganda article agrees with Medical marijuana: Fact 4: Smoked marijuana is not scientifically approved medicine. Marinol, the legal version of medical marijuana, is approved by science. According to the Institute of Medicine, there is no future in smoked marijuana as medicine. However, the prescription drug Marinol—a legal and safe version of medical marijuana which isolates the active ingredient of THC—has been studied and approved by the Food & Drug Administration as safe medicine. The difference is that you have to get a prescription for Marinol from a licensed physician. You can’t buy it on a street corner, and you don’t smoke it.

You know nothing.... Upon reviewing all your previous comments, you clearly have an axe to grind with this industry and are a poorly educated individual. MJ lobbyists are far outweighed by those in the liquor, pharma, and tobacco industries (whose products kill far more people every year than all illicit "narcotics" combined.

The Colorado Department of Health will be regulating these manufacturers in conjunction with the CDOR Rules and regulations. These companies follow procedural guidelines set forth by Amendment 20, HB 10-1284, SB 109, and the soon to be passed HB 11-1043. This is a regulated industry and will thrive regardless of what "ClamBoy" thinks....

The prices for these types of edibles varies between $6-15 per edible. Kids, teens and those in their early twenties are not targeted with these products and could not afford them even if they were.
Although product assay testing is written into the legislation, that part of the bill and rules will most likely not be enforced till July 1, 2011. However, the majority of edible manufacturers utilize one of a number of licensed testing facilities across the State of Colorado. These facilities utilize HPLC, MS, and GS pharmaceutical grade testing equipment. For more information google: CannLabs or Full Spectrum Labs (my favorite place to get medicine tested is CannLabs). These facilities will even test for patients and caregivers who wish to test their medicine.
