Let me summarize your position . . . Clearly all Americans are perfect and we have never made any mistakes. Our politicians make wonderful foreign policy decisions that people the world over should appreciate. If they don't appreciate the decisions of our politicians then we should democratize them using our world class military. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Paul is not "laying blame" he is trying to help you understand that we need to stop trying to police the world. We're broke and it makes us LESS secure. Remember that he wrote the legislation to assassinate Bin Laden . . . hardly the work of an apologist.

This article is such a lie that it makes me re-think my support for Breitbart. Ron Paul is NOT in the slightest way supporting Al Qaeda, but the neocons who rail against him and mischaracterize his positions certainly are. The purpose of terrorism is not only to make us afraid, but also to get us to lash out and hurt people (which is great for recruiting). You don't need to be a genius to realize that when we kill people in the Middle East, we are going to piss people off. Some of those people are going to try to get revenge. It doesn't excuse their behavior but it's certainly worth understanding instead of sticking your head in the sand and acting like people just hate us because we have flat screen TVs.

You shouldn't believe the bumper stickers. Ron Paul is not at all interested in isolationism. He would, in fact, open up all markets and allow you to decide for yourself who you wanted to do business with. If you call worldwide free trade \"isolationism\" then it's time to get a new dictionary. In addition to its other benefits, there's a lot of research suggesting that trade reduces war because it's hard to kill somebody who is making your life better (even if you don't like them!).

BTW--America doesn't have a head (as in \"head in the sand\"), it has 300 million heads and they don't all agree. To think that any human is going to get us all to agree what countries should get our hard earned $ is silly on its face. If you want to support a person, cause, or country, you should be able to do that, but you shouldn't be forced to do it as we are now. I wouldn't give a dime to Egyptian dictators but our leaders see fit to dole out my cash for causes that I actively oppose. Ron Paul would end all of this and let you support those who you wanted to support. Again, hardly \"isolationism.\"

Dr. Paul has the strongest and smartest foreign policy ideas out there. Get us out of all of these useless wars, get our troops back where they are safe, trade freely as individuals (i.e., you don't need 2000 page treaties for "free" trade), stop stealing our money and giving it to other tyrannies (i.e., if you want to give aid then do so . . . it's not that difficult). He wrote an entire book on foreign policy which tracks over thirty years of disastrous decisions. I'd be okay if you said that you disagree with his foreign policy but please don't say that he doesn't have one.

You say that you "await your hate mail." Is that because you packed an article full of lies and false innuendo? Just because I don't want to steal my neighbor's money in order to support a cause, does that make me an extremist, leftist, communist, etc. Ron Paul simply wants you to be left to support or not support people as you see fit. He's not a pacifist or an isolationist, he's an individualist and a capitalist who thinks that you should decide what's right for you. He also thinks that you also should stop using force on others to get your way. I would add that you should stop lying. If your arguments hold weight than you should be able to win the debate without trying to use absurd, guilt by association logic to link the most freedom oriented politician in our lifetime to Communists (!?). Seriously, what were you thinking?

Fair question except for the assumption that it was a main stream media outlet. I'd start with the reminder that even if my data was made up, the real question is \"who owns your body.\" If you think that you own your body, doesn't it follow that you should be able to do want you want with it. Boxers get pummeled for our entertainment, people get paid to take experimental drugs in trials, people are allowed to climb mountains and skydive and race motorcycles and so on (as they should be). Shouldn't a cancer patient have the right to use whatever drug he chooses to ease his or her pain? Once you start down that road you should realize that you are not in a position to FORCE others to do what you want them to do, regardless of what data you may have to show that it's in their best interests.

I'd be happy to listen to counterarguments, but I'm more interested in the \"Do my own my body\" question. In other words, if you can dig up a study showing that marijuana use increases the probability of other drug use above and beyond alcohol, it doesn't change my position. To change my position you'd have to convince me that freedom is not more important than the negatives associated with drug use. Since freedom ranks pretty high on my list, that's going to be a challenging argument. If it's not as important for you, I can respect that as long as your honest about it. In other words, don't claim that you want freedom and still want to imprison people for having a bag a weed in their trunk. Instead, admit that you really don't value freedom as much as getting people to live the way you think they should live. Freedom isn't easy but it is, in my opinion, right.

Is that the experience that you had with Marijuana or is that what you saw in a Lifetime movie? This topic has been extensively researched and the \"gateway theory\" is a myth, although, contrary to your post, there is some evidence of alcohol being a true gateway drug. Personally, relating to legalization, I don't really care if a drug is a \"gateway\" or not. I value freedom and will fight for your right to put whatever you want in your body, along with all other freedoms. I have kids and I'm far more afraid of statists trying to control their lives then I am of reefer madness. Your fear does not give you the right to impose your will on others. Do you really lean for freedom or is that just a catchy slogan that goes with your name?

BTW--The countries that have legalized drugs have had a reduction in abuse, not an increase. Keep obsessing about drugs and watch what your kids do when their ready to rebel a little.

Saying pot is a gateway drug is like saying water is a gateway substance. If 100% of alcoholics drank water prior drinking alcohol does that mean that water was the "gateway"? Clue: the answer is no. I don't do drugs but I do own my body and should be able to do what I want with it. I'm sure you spout off about freedom at times but until you're willing to let people do what they want to do, you're nothing but a statist.

The statists (Rs and Ds) are the ones with crazy defense ideas. We have troops in 160+ countries fighting half a dozen wars (depending on how you count) and we spend more on the military than the rest of the world combined. None of it makes us safer, and lots of it makes us less safe. President Paul would fix this mess faster than any of the Neocons. How the sensible ideas ever got labeled as "extreme" and "crazy" is beyond me but its about time that basic logic and morals prevail. Don't spend more than you take in, don't involve yourself in the affairs of others, don't use force to get you way, encourage voluntary trade and peaceful interactions. If those ideas are crazy you can send me to the looney bin.

I agree that Palin should stay on the sidelines even though I generally like her. Bachmann is from Iowa and yet she didn't even win by a full 1% over Ron Paul. Hardly a "resounding" victory but it was a victory nonetheless. Is it too much to ask for a politician that supports liberty all of the time (at least 99%)?

In your message you say "I know Paul will" and yet you seem to be waiting for the next Ron Paul. There hasn't been another Ron Paul in my lifetime so what are you waiting for now? Gary Johnson might be in the same category but why go for Ron Paul light when you can vote for the original and check every item on your checklist.
