There is definitely something called human error in sports. That is what makes it fun and exciting. This pitcher was a class act and a gentleman. He could have whined and made demands but he accepted the human error with class. It is not a life & death situation as some people seem to see it as. It might be the difference in this pitcher earning a few more million someday. Not something that I'm going to loose sleep over...

I blame the greedy lawyers and the judges who don't throw these cases out of court. we are all free to do stupid things, but should accept the consequences..

God bless these soldiers! I thank god that there are men and women willing to put their lives on the line for us. I think we owe them our undying gratitude and respect.

I agree.. yawn, yawn.. .but sure am glad they got to go back and bring more $$ to the team in NY. they sure need the cash!!

Gee, if they lived in CA, they'd have to pay 10% of winnings to the government. wonder why politicians never complain about sports stars and hollywood types making so much money, but a businessperson is vilified. I know, off on a tangent......

to hypocritics - would absolutely NOT sue the state just because they have money - which, by the way, is ours! I would not sue on principle alone. Don't assume everyone has the same morals, or lack of!!

Why is she suing the state? simple. If she sued the owner of the chimp, she would get no money. Some common sense should have told her not to try to confront a 200 pound wild animal..

It was only a matter of time before this got to the lawyers! How about taking responsibility and realizing you are taking your life in your hands by having a WILD animal in your home!! The only one I feel sorry for is the chimp.
