It's a friggin' smokestack. Do we honestly need to save it? Seems like those financial resources could be better put elsewhere. Besides, communities everywhere are oversaturated with some sort of building, plaque, statue, sculpture, etc to commemorate something or someone or some event—even trivial BS. It's almost gotten to the point of absurdity, IMO. Everybody wants an "atta boy". Give me a break. We are turning into hoarders! I think recycling the bricks it's made of is the best idea I've read all day.

They're probably just looking for revenue in this down-turned economy. They're busting people for all kinds of stuff anymore that they would have otherwise turned a blind eye to in the past.
