Did the liberals have an election or something I didn't hear about? For the life of me, I don't recall Michelle Obama being elected to anything. Ever. Where exactly did she get the legal authority to do all this?

Big Journalism : Media Hit Fails: Tea Party Backs Outed Gay Sheriff

There are a couple of annual parades in San Francisco I'd suggest you avoid, kent. Personally, what grown people do in the dark is none of my business, given the limits of the law and human decency. The story was a non-starter for me. I do find this story odd, since almost every Gay Lesbian Trans-Gendered and Sexually Confused organization I've ever heard of is pathetically liberal. Funny libs would make it an issue, although I do get the now-standard racism smear built into the story. They must have left out the part about Babeu drowning cute little puppies by mistake. Could have been a Trifecta.

Recovery begins with a change of power in November, followed by about a 20% cut in federal headcount and a near-total review and reversal of all new federal regulations enacted over the past three years. Then, let's talk.

Big Government : Teachers Unions Opt for Plastic Sugery on Taxpayers' Dime

There's a reason why union negotiators will never agree to cuts unless they have a gun to their heads. All new contract negotiations begin with last year's contract. It doesn't matter how many teachers are fired. What matters is what compensation and benefits are used for negotiating the new contract, and it's all about the high water mark set by last year's contract. It's the miracle of compound interest, you see. Teaching has nothing to do with it.

Big Government : Algae-Based Biofuels: More of President Obama's Green Cronyism

There is secret research being done at the DOE to require all automobiles to be rigged with sails made out of flexible solar panels. Early tests show that our imported energy needs could be reduced by as much as 18.3% on bright, really windy days. They're currently working on a series of large fans to improve performance at night and on calm, cloudy days, but science will eventually provide the answer. The State Department is simultaneously working on a plan to compensate the middle east and Venezuela for lost revenue and economic damage this stunning new technology will cause. The National Highway Administration is developing a budget to raise the ceiling height of all of the nation's tunnels and overpasses, but this is only a small infrastructure change costing 6.5 trillion, and the impact is expected to be only temporary. Further study is needed, along with massive funding, but expect a breathtaking announcement sometime around the end of September.

Big Government : Mitt Romney, Despite Oft Professed Love of American Cars in Michigan, Drives--and Loves--His BMW

I'm not a Romney fan, but I couldn't care less what kind of car he drives, any more than I care what kind of breakfast cereal he has in the morning. And I'd venture to say that most people feel the same way. What really matters is substantive issues that impact how he will govern as president, like whether he wears tighty whities or boxers. Just keep watching the network news. They'll eventually tell us. This is an important election, so it's important that the media do their best to keep us informed on these and similar weighty issues. Of course, we could squander our time wading through tired topics like the economy, joblessness, food stamps, federal spending, government over-regulation, our total lack of an intelligent energy policy, crony socialism, Obamacare, election fraud, union payoffs, the Justice Department's little adventure in international gun running to Mexican drug cartels, our fraudulent border control policy, the deficit, food stamps, welfare abuse, the emasculation of our military, Obama's sketchy college years, and stuff like that. But I digress. Let's consider what kind of tree he would be if he could be a tree. Or whether he reads books. Or whether America is ready for a Mormon president. You know, the really important stuff. Keep your eye on the prize, folks. What matters is whether Obama gets to screw us for another five years.

Big Government : Palin and Gingrich Outraged Over Obama's Apology for Quran Burnings

Drudge is reporting that 12 more Americans have been killed and US installations are being charged by mobs. So that's 14 people dead. Can you imagine the carnage if our President hadn't publicly grovelled for the cameras? A president with a pair of cajones would have sent a brief message to Karzai: "We're leaving you -- to yourselves. Best of luck and screw you. Strong letter to follow.
Big Government : The Great Gibson Guitar Raid: Months Later, Still No Charges Filed

"it’s not up to Gibson to decide which laws…they want to respect.” If this is so, then by all reason the same logic applies to government. Take our border enforcement and deportation laws, for example. Does Homeland Security and the DOJ get to decide not to enforce these laws? Or laws proscribing the intimidation of voters at polling places. Or selectively enforcing racial discrimination laws. Or allowing federal agencies to write, enforce and adjudicate their own laws completely without Congressional oversight. Or laws requiring Congress to present and pass a federal budget. Or laws prohibiting the smuggling of weapons across state and international boundaries. Or intentionally damaging entire industries, such as oil exploration, refining and pipeline delivery, coal mining, aircraft manufacturing. Or deliberately rewarding political allies with huge federal funding without Congressional approval or intentionally interfering in labor disputes. That's just off the top of my head. The list is a long one. Bottom line, this case reeks of hypocrisy.

Big Government : Obama: Lower Corporate Tax Rate Will Boost Job Creation

The key to understanding this proposal is the same as evaluating his budget proposals: Obama has three buttons: naked, partisan politics, bitter class envy, and income redistribution. Economics has nothing to do with it whatsoever. The net cost to businesses is estimated at $250 billion. The "loopholes" he's talking about were all created to encourage capital formation, and approved by Congress and the president at the time they were enacted. Obama has apparently never even read a comic book about economics, as evidenced by virtually every single proposal he has made since he took office. It's always - ALWAYS - to take money away from "the rich" and give it to his cronies in the labor unions and liberals in Congress to excuse even more spending. This man has never understood the phrase "capital formation", and he never will. He will be adding taxation to unrepatriated foreign earnings, and killing oil and gas exploration "loopholes", with gasoline headed for $5.00 a gallon and a full blown recession on his hands. And if you like that, wait until you hear what he plans for personal taxation. Start with the taxation of dividend income, which he intends to raise to almost 45%. Read the Wall Street Journal article: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204... If that doesn't make your blood boil, you're either a pathetic liberal or you have the attention span of a goldfish. Get this: Obama is not your friend. (Sorry, I'm worked up about this.)

You bastard. I was going to say that. I watched the Romney campaign buy the Florida election with millions of dollars of slimy "Newt is the Devil" ads shown every five minutes on TV. It was vicious and relentless, and it had nothing to do with voting for Romney. It was all about sliming Gingrich, it was all about character assassination, and it turned my stomach. I had nothing against Romney until I saw that, but I'm so sick of Obama's brass knuckles all-Chicago-politics all-the-time tenure in office that I just don't want another shiny suit politician in the White House. We would be simply replacing one slimeball with another, and I don't want to see it. We've been lied to long enough. Personally, I'm not really keen on Santorum, but if it's down to Romney vs. Santorum, I know which one I'll support.

Big Government : Of Profits and Power: Education Establishment Attacks Digital Learning

With apologies, I'm not sure you do. She is relying on a fact that has gone unnoticed: Most parents today are products of the very public education system she's talking about. She is actually admitting how ineffective our education system has become, isn't she? My mother was a teacher, and she loved her job. I don't think she ever made more than $10,000 a year, but I don't think she cared. One thing I'm sure of: she despised the corrupting influence of teachers unions, and so do I. Teachers' unions have little to do with either teaching or children, and everything to do with money, pension and benefits. It's a selfish collective bargaining organization, and nothing more.
