I'm not a Romney fan, but I couldn't care less what kind of car he drives, any more than I care what kind of breakfast cereal he has in the morning. And I'd venture to say that most people feel the same way. What really matters is substantive issues that impact how he will govern as president, like whether he wears tighty whities or boxers. Just keep watching the network news. They'll eventually tell us. This is an important election, so it's important that the media do their best to keep us informed on these and similar weighty issues. Of course, we could squander our time wading through tired topics like the economy, joblessness, food stamps, federal spending, government over-regulation, our total lack of an intelligent energy policy, crony socialism, Obamacare, election fraud, union payoffs, the Justice Department's little adventure in international gun running to Mexican drug cartels, our fraudulent border control policy, the deficit, food stamps, welfare abuse, the emasculation of our military, Obama's sketchy college years, and stuff like that. But I digress. Let's consider what kind of tree he would be if he could be a tree. Or whether he reads books. Or whether America is ready for a Mormon president. You know, the really important stuff. Keep your eye on the prize, folks. What matters is whether Obama gets to screw us for another five years.

Take our border enforcement and deportation laws, for example. Does Homeland Security and the DOJ get to decide not to enforce these laws? Or laws proscribing the intimidation of voters at polling places. Or selectively enforcing racial discrimination laws. Or allowing federal agencies to write, enforce and adjudicate their own laws completely without Congressional oversight. Or laws requiring Congress to present and pass a federal budget. Or laws prohibiting the smuggling of weapons across state and international boundaries. Or intentionally damaging entire industries, such as oil exploration, refining and pipeline delivery, coal mining, aircraft manufacturing. Or deliberately rewarding political allies with huge federal funding without Congressional approval or intentionally interfering in labor disputes. That's just off the top of my head. The list is a long one. Bottom line, this case reeks of hypocrisy.

The key to understanding this proposal is the same as evaluating his budget proposals: Obama has three buttons: naked, partisan politics, bitter class envy, and income redistribution. Economics has nothing to do with it whatsoever. The net cost to businesses is estimated at $250 billion. The "loopholes" he's talking about were all created to encourage capital formation, and approved by Congress and the president at the time they were enacted. Obama has apparently never even read a comic book about economics, as evidenced by virtually every single proposal he has made since he took office. It's always - ALWAYS - to take money away from "the rich" and give it to his cronies in the labor unions and liberals in Congress to excuse even more spending. This man has never understood the phrase "capital formation", and he never will. He will be adding taxation to unrepatriated foreign earnings, and killing oil and gas exploration "loopholes", with gasoline headed for $5.00 a gallon and a full blown recession on his hands. And if you like that, wait until you hear what he plans for personal taxation. Start with the taxation of dividend income, which he intends to raise to almost 45%. It was vicious and relentless, and it had nothing to do with voting for Romney. It was all about sliming Gingrich, it was all about character assassination, and it turned my stomach. I had nothing against Romney until I saw that, but I'm so sick of Obama's brass knuckles all-Chicago-politics all-the-time tenure in office that I just don't want another shiny suit politician in the White House. We would be simply replacing one slimeball with another, and I don't want to see it. We've been lied to long enough. Personally, I'm not really keen on Santorum, but if it's down to Romney vs. Santorum, I know which one I'll support.

With apologies, I'm not sure you do. She is relying on a fact that has gone unnoticed: Most parents today are products of the very public education system she's talking about. She is actually admitting how ineffective our education system has become, isn't she? My mother was a teacher, and she loved her job. I don't think she ever made more than $10,000 a year, but I don't think she cared. One thing I'm sure of: she despised the corrupting influence of teachers unions, and so do I. Teachers' unions have little to do with either teaching or children, and everything to do with money, pension and benefits. It's a selfish collective bargaining organization, and nothing more.
