KATU - Portland, OR : Should horses be slaughtered for their meat? | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | News

What a bunch of BS. First, slaughter is slaughter people. Tamianth, your "put humanely down" = euthanasia, which slaughter is not. If you don't know the difference, then I will be happy to provide you with videos. Second, Native Americans have always had the greatest respect for horses. I highly doubt that the "Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs" would bow to traditions unbecoming them. Third, a strong bi-partisan Congress banned USDA inspectors from inspecting horse meat in the US in 2006 -- no doubt because of the medications that horses ingest (illegal in ALL food animals) but legal in horses as they are classified as non-food animals. Nice try pro-slaughter people -- but fortunately you're way off base on all accounts.
