What will happen to our ever expanding and improving knowledge to prevent/cure health complications and diseases if all the competition to do so is gone? I know that a whole lot of people don't have health care, but there is Medicaid for children under the age of 19 and for pregnant women. There are also clinics out there that will base what you pay for services and prescriptions on your income. The government doesn't advertise it, but these places do exist. Maybe if we stopped treating illegals, we would have more funding for more of these clinics. Bottom line: health care is a privilege, not a right. If you can't afford it, but want it bad enough...you will find a way. You shouldn't steal from other families, and place financial responsibility for your own well-being on them. Either way, she did not allow me to have a different opinion, and after 20 minutes of debating, she told me to leave the class and not come back until I had learned respect for our country. Will I be accused of indoctrinating my daughter because I most likely won't agree with what her liberal teachers are telling her? 80% of educators nowadays are liberal. Many public schools are wanting to opt out of teaching about the Holocaust because Muslim children find it offensive (which I think is absolute bull@#$%). Many schools are also having to cut sports and scholarship programs because they can't afford to have them due to the "necessity" to provide ESOL teachers and interpreters for students of American schools who can't even speak English. This is not new, however sad as it may be to admit. Back when I was in high school, I took a choir class for a fine arts credit. 6 students in my class couldn't speak English, so all they had to do was hum to get the same damn credit I had to literally sing for. Needless to say, I quit the class at semester, and told the teacher why. I ended up getting Saturday School for two months for protesting this inequality. I do not want any of my children to have to suffer a poorer and less rounded education, and I especially do NOT want to pay for the children of illegal immigrants to learn English. I work hard, pay my taxes, and I believe that you should not even be admitted into a school without some damn standards in place. Hell, children have to be immunized before attending a public school, why can't the ability to at least SPEAK English be required too? When I was in college, I worked three jobs to pay my tuition and rent. Even though I ate ketchup soup and top ramen a whole lot, I made it on my own. I had no health insurance, but I did find a clinic that adjusted how much you paid on services and prescriptions based on your income. I got free health care as well as prescriptions. These places do exist, you just have to look for them. Currently, all children under the age of 19 can be eligible for Medicaid, as well as any pregnant women. You can make it through even when your personal situation is dire. There is no reason to make holders of private health insurance pay more to take care of others if they don't elect to. Health care is essentially a privilege, not a right. I'm not trying to go on a rant; it seems that a lot of issues today get people quite heated. My husband is in the USAF, so I can definitely say that I'm not happy he has to be deployed to those countries for 6 months out of every year. We have a family, and he misses out on SO much. I will say that I am glad that at least Bush had testicular fortitude, whereas Obama literally bows down to others.
