Walking by a smoker does not harm you with second hand smoke. For pete's sake, stand on the street corner and inhale the carbon monoxide from all the cars; ride your bike and breathe deep and inhale all the carbon monoxide from all the motorized vehicles; put your kids in the car, start the engine, then open the overhead door of the garage and back out - your kids have inhaled far more carbon monoxide than standing next to a smoker for a minute or two.
