The term CAPITALISM is greatly abused. It means, the use of capital to build an economic system. But even communists use capital, only in communism/socialism the state owns the capital. So what we really mean when we say "Capitalism" is "Private Capital (ism)". Has the "failure of capitalism" come from too much Private/Individual capital? NO the failure has come from government activity dominating every part of capitalism and permitting a few connected at the top to get rich by manipulating state policy. That is socialism acting to destroy capitalism. The socialists then are actually criticizing socialism and slapping the charicature of capitalism on it. We need to take all of the funny money out of the system and strengthen shareholder and individual rights in capital.

Many of my friends are recent emigres from India. Most came over as IT specialists and are very intelligent, BUT they are uniformly critical of the US military (even though they are now citizens). They are generally oblivious to the fact that the US came to the aid of India during WW2 to keep the Japanese from taking the country over and butchering millions. You ask them about the butchering of the peaceful Tibetans by the soldiers of MAO and they wax philosophical about the unfortunate ways of the world. You tell them that the US/UN was fighting in Vietnam to save millions from being butchered by the maoists (and indeed they were when we pulled out) and they still go on about how evil the Us was to do this. It seems that India will be fairly easy for the maoists to take over. They have now got, Tibet, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos,Cambidia,Vietnam (Soon Thailand) and India is not lifting a finger or supporting those who do. Prepare to become slaves, people of India.

There is already a law that says that public office and public funds may not be used for political purposes. It looks like there will have to be a constitutional ammendment covering this, PLUS delineating limits on government spending inclusive of monetary and tax policy. i.e. you cant spend public funds to further an agenda, or grant a tax deduction/rebate. What happened to all the campaign promises about reducing "tagged" appropriations? This sort of thing has happened with the NAZI government and Stalinists governments around the world. "good" artists are funded, "bad" artists are put into re-education camps, or the ovens.

The imagery invoked is not unlike some of the finest ethical/moral teachings related in the Bible, wherein those who are the most wrong find it the easiest to proudly spit upon the most innocent. Only to harm their own spirit in the process. As a Christian (or believer in any one of the other religions that know a spiritual life) one can only hope that these persons will find a better way in life and be the better for it.
