Not arguing that Ynarri v Demons is a boring world to live in... but perhaps those of us who have Eldar (and could easily play Ynarri) need an article on how to effectively dominate? If that's what we're doing. I wasn't here for 7th or the beginning of the Ynead, so I have no real idea how to effectively use them.

Obviously, it's more "in your face" than prior Eldar were, and I'd need to keep the army together to get all the lovely cascading death to happen, but I'm hoping for specifics. I know they're not the new hotness (new codex...yet) but still.

As an Aeldari player, this all makes me sad.

First of all, thanks so much for giving me a competitive player's assessment of what the good options are for the Harlies. It'll help me put together lists. That said, I really didn't care if they sucked. When I first started playing 25+ years ago, this was my army. This is why I played. I was a Harlequin player.

Even back then, it was not the best idea. So I got some Eldar to back them up, and it was better.

When I came back to the game in 5th, suddenly I only got to add on some Harlequins (the fewer the better) if I wanted to play them at all. So I was an Eldar player. I dropped out in 6th, before the Eldar codex happened, and hadn't been back since. The Harlequins lured me back to the game. I bought both codexes, and rulebook yesterday to go with the hordes of Harlequins I still have to this day, including Death Jesters (who I would use for Reapers on occasion) and all the characters. I'm somewhat thankful that all the new stuff (vehicles, bikes) are shit, since I now have 4000+ points of Eldar to choose from.

I see lots of transport theft in my future.

Reading through the pages on the forum, I keep seeing the cost per model and thinking "how is this worth more than a Space Marine?" or a Terminator in some cases.

Excuse me for not buying the last Eldar book, but did the Elfy psychers lose their psychic save?

As a person who has worked for publicly-held companies that make a creative product, I can tell you, GW's problem is that that bean counters have too much power. Properly play-testing their product would take thousands of hours, and they simply can't justify it in the budget when more flashy things like art and product releases are demanding time/money as well. In a company that is capable of seeing the big picture, allowances are made, but when you're focused on the bottom line, you lose the nuances that are necessary to be awesome.

The secret in avoiding an accident and not getting stuck with the bill, is to just clip the offending car before spinning off into the corn.
