States rights is exactly the way to go with this. If NH wants to be RTW and NY doesn't, why should the voters of NH get to mandate what NY does, or vice-versa. Yes, some things need to be handled at the fed level, but more often than not the "I know what's best for you" thinking is how we end up with things like Obamacare.

You better apologize for that! Sorry, can't get worked up about this one. Too much other important stuff going down under our noses to care about a bad joke by a terrible comedian.

I agree she is no Reagan, who was much more of a "uniter" than a "divider". Still, it doesn't really matter how many people vote _for_ her as much as how many people vote _against_ Obama, which at the rate things are going is A LOT!

Seriously. Its time to break away. If the Repubs want the support of these candidates they can caucus with them. But don't assume anything, and expect to be surprised if you think its "business as usual".

Unfortunately since Mr. Paul seems to be the only one standing up to this illegal and immoral law, perhaps he's the "real RINO" and being a Republican means selling out your principles to stay elected at any cost.

Big Government : Police Union Bosses File Complaint against Police Chief Stopping Crime while he was off-duty

Sorry, but please don't attack the rank and file when they don't even have a choice about being a member of the union! Its _mandatory_ and if someone wants to dedicate themselves to protecting us I say more power to them. The beef here is with the a-holes at the top pulling this kind of crap. There's a lot of guys out there, union or not, putting their butts on the line for us and I'm not going to hold them accountable for something misrepresenting them when they likely don't have a say in the matter. (And teacher unions are even WORSE on this kind of BS, but don't get me started on that, we'd be here all day! :)

Big Government : The Universal Service Fund and Taxing Internet Content Providers

The only thing the government has done to help the internet grow is _not_ regulate it. I guess they want it to stop growing :) This does seem to be a completely separate issue from Net Neutrality aside from the obvious parallels of trying to to give another bureaucrat a job. Net Neutrality seems to be more about the places where the "big" ends of the internet meet - the content providers and the ISPs, whereas this tends to be more about the "last mile" or "last five miles" if you live out in the sticks. IMO it seems like if any type of governmental entity would be involved with this it should be the local municipal or county government. Let them tax their own or take out a bond if its really a big deal to not use satellite - but more important have someone local and accountable make the decision and not some jerk in DC we didn't elect.

Big Government : General Motors Accidently Tells the Truth

Except that coal comes from here and oil comes from an unstable region that would love to destroy us if they had half a chance. So unless they're reinventing coal powered cars (honey get in the back and shovel, we're hitting traffic!), we'll all need to drive electrics in the long run. I find nothing wrong with investing in electrics or putting them out on the road. Not saying the Volt is the best option, but you gotta start somewhere.

Big Government : Washington Goes Supply-Side

Its really true. All these electric cars aren't going to get powered up by solar. Its going to be coal, and while we have a true abundance of it (the saying should really be "dig baby dig!") for a true sustainable energy source we need to get to the forefront of making this a nuclear powered country again.

Let's not forget nuclear, the industry we invented and abandoned to the French and others because of superstitious and unfounded environmental concerns. Modern nuclear energy can support the needs of our country and satisfy the "greens" in ways no other energy source can. Energy independence should be our #1 national security issue - there's no better way to secure our future and prosperity.
