Yeah I completely agree. Would love to see him in the shirt again. Apparently he said he would love to play for us again! Maybe one day :-)

Do we really think city will let a player worth, in the current market, £50 mill plus. Come down to the championship where he would have a massive target on his chest from all the slower brute centre halves who will be out classed and take retribution. Add that to west ham's obvious injury prevention short comings (ok they have got better since Sam but that kind of sigma sticks for a long time). So why the hell would city risk tevez coming to us till jan when he could just get injured and be up the pervervial. Yes they will never get his true value as it's been made very public they don't want him there. But they'll get a big fat £0 if the worst happens.

West Ham Till I Die : Fernandes Hits Back, as Sam Allegedly Wants to Buy British!

If we could get a player like mackail smith it would be a massive bonus. If we do this as well as retaining someone like Ba. This would be a very strong place to kick on for automatic promotion. Add this to players like collison sears noble hinze de costa tomkins stanislas there's a real strong basis there that sam can add to and get in order.

West Ham Till I Die : Can Oil and Water Mix, as the 'Iron Surgeon' Cometh on a Two Year Contract!

Personally I think the major problem with west ham the last 2-3 season is that we haven't had a style to our play. Knock them all you like but the Bolton, Stoke and blackburn's of this world are physical and hard teams to break dowm. West brom and Wigan are industrious and will close you down all day. Villa have incredible pass down the wing and stretch you open!!! What have we had really??? A 'big man' up top in cole, who doesn't hold the ball up well enough, lazy, and doesn't give defender a hard enough time by making their job easy giving fouls away like candy. Not had a decent winger to speak of barring grant stumbling over sears half way through the season (this hasnt been helped by injuries and loss of form to collison, dyer and stani. A midfield trio that play identical football really. Sit slightly deeper and like little one touch passing not really going anywhere. (with the exception of the Liverpool game) and full-backs that don't seem to know if they should be bombing forward or staying back. It all just strikes me as we are a team with avarage skill, strength, speed, power, tactical awareness and passion. Something needs to be in place. If it's the 'west ham way' then get a couple of passionate dicks di canio repka like players in there. A couple of tricky fast skilful players, etherington j.cole (I know I said fast) mcanuff, some to get excited about and get us all singing again. And a goal scorer, cottie, hartson, hell even harewood. Upton park hasn't been the same in year. The atmosphere used to make my hair stand on end. Now I can not wait for it to end. If Sam is the man to give us purpose and a game plan again. Then I say take it. Maybe the good times will follow.

West Ham Till I Die : So Big Fat Sam It Is - But Not in My Name

Yeah. There's one thing taking Sam with an open mind. Don't think I would be able to put up with a scummy nasty piece of work and an embarrassment to football el hadj. I mean we have to draw the line somewhere. Don't know where I'd stand on a similar subject if he brought in someone like Barton to fill the Parker like role :-/ wonder how most fans would feel after having players like bowyer hartson Bellamy, all forgiven for there shortcomings.

Well that's the million dollar. Can he deliver or is it the case that he's been worked out by ever improving and far more tactically aware managers..... We shall see. I hope he can. Remember he'd win everything in the world if he was manager of real Madrid (his words) west ham may not be real... But it's possibly the best team he's inherited before... Maybe on a par as bobbys Newcastle :-/

I am in no way a fan of big Sam. And like Ian have often come away from game against his teams thinking that was the worst anti-football display I had ever seen and hated any team I saw with him at the helm. Having said that..... (trying to look on the bright side) having watched interviews with him, he really does know what he's talking about. And very very clued up on diet and fitness, sports phycology and was one of the first managers to use the information available from in match statistics (such as distance covered etc). He will sort out the men from the boys and if a player isn't giving everything possible, which we are all to used to this season, he will drop them. Not to mention the shocking defence would be shored up in a second. How many boring 1-0 wins have we seen from his sides. If one we could have had a couple more season just passed. Compare his credentials to frog man and the smiley zola. Well there's something refreshingly boring about him. Which we haven't had enough at west ham in a very long time, yes we want pretty football the "west ham way" but who enjoys walking away from upton park after losing again. However good our football is??? Horses for courses. Lets put up with Sam for a couple of years, get promoted, sure up a good base for a premier league team. Then we can be hand picking once he taken us as far as he can go (probably mid-table) then hand pick a di canio or bilić who will kick on from there. At the moment we are a premier league team in the wrong league. If we let our hearts rule our heads right now and pick the wrong man and we will be a Leeds Charlton Sheffield. A "what ever happened to them...." Embrace the boring. It won't be forever.

West Ham Till I Die : Friday's Transfer Gossip!

wow that was my first post on a website and I have already changed someones opinion. How humbling. I agree though Remy probably is not the correct replacement for Cole, I haven't seen him play first hand but I am lead to believe he is a palace small player with skill and a good finish. Which we do indeed have a need for at WH but maybe Piquionne or even Nouble could fill Cole's shoes. He hasn't been particularly prolific goal wise but he does a good job holding the ball up and bring other into play. A role that either of these two could do easily with the correct guidance?

Am I the only person not overly concerned if we do decide to cash in on Cole? He has by far been the best striker for us over the last few seasons and has come on leaps and bounds from the striker we had when he first come to the club. However it just shows how desired he is as a player as the only club I've heard to be interested is Stoke! I just thing we have rose tinted glasses we're he is concerned and if there is a healthy offer being made it may be time to cash in on a player that has possibly over performed that last two seasons. It wasn't to long ago he was our far inferior third choice striker after Ashton and Bellamy. He hasn't earned he's place, he's just inherited it due to West Ham's misfortune
