Think politically. Instead of right-sizing use your power to work on a bike path north to south instead. The right size lanes don't work... they just don't. Go forward. We're not like Gainesville with lots of alternatives to get from point A to point B...
Hundreds of drivers are inconvenienced for an utopian dream. Instead... find a solution that doesn't impact and punish others.

Interesting as a business owner when I see a business not taking a card I always think about businesses who don't report all their intake to the IRS. I pay taxes. I want everyone to pay their fair share. An all cash business makes it easier not to report their business income. Not that I am alluding to the above business being tax cheats... I'm not.
I'm sure small cafes and alteration services have small point of each sale and it's hard to pay the percentage to the cc companies... but I am saying be wary of those who don't take credit cards. Cheating the government equals cheating their employees equals cheating their customer... paying under the table and not paying taxes hurts schools and libraries and fire departments.

Absolutely. This is used in Florida (I know, I know... it's Florida but they do know about development and over-development). Impact taxes / Impact costs / Traffic lights / sidewalks / opportunity costs. Pay your way when you overwhelm the system. GREAT idea.

That's fine but the Boulder Y seems to always have machines broken, tv's broken and a bit down on their hills while the Arapahoe Y has the newest equipment, lots of channels and always clean and neat. Longmont should make sure they aren't treated like the Boulder Mapleton Y... really, we were gone for two months and the same equipment still didn't work and it was still filthy is the same spots.

300k for deans; 350k for DuiStefano. Faculty 60 to 80K.
It's the administrative costs not faculty.

So, if this is the same Boulder city that can do rightsizing "right" how in the world will they ever run an electrical authority.
Can't you see it now... you shouldn't be using your air conditioner now... charge extra... or have a enforced brown-out. Heating (?)... not cold enough. Mandatory turning off of electricity. Ride your bike in place to generate electricity. NO more free will. It's just not the right city for this... no common sense.

Where John Tayer goes nothing seems to follow. Talk, talk, talk. Chambers need business people not talking heads.

"But DiStefano has not survived and thrived for 41 years as a CU academic and bureaucrat by being brave."
Of course, DiStefano is a coward. Completely. Two DUIs. (Really, who gets two DUIs except an exceptional "citizen?")
He has spent his life kowtowing to power and making those who are not in power believe he cares about him which makes all of this even sadder. But to understand the man; to understand the inferiority complex; and to understand the DUIs one has just got to look whence he came. His uneducated blue collar background has stayed with him. He knows deep down he is a fraud. But to that end no one will ever get in his way to find out his true character flaws. Not one principled academic. Not one principled bureaucrat. Not one principled CWA. Speaking truth to power is not the poor little diminutive and abused boy's way of getting ahead... he just keeps conniving and bullying... but it is the end of the road for him... for the curtain has been pulled on the "career" of Phil DuiStefano. Thank you, Dave Kreiger, for speaking truth to power. A new day has come to Boulder and to the "Camera."
