Then, I realized, it is Linda Woodrum's decorating that is so spectacular! Even in the Dream Home -- If I won it, unfurnished, it would not look the same, the pearl mirror frame of the blue bathroom, the coastal candles and simple things -- I would love for her to spend a year redocrating my home. We live in a unique home built in 1949. I dream of being able to go to Ethan Allen and just pick what I want. Linda Woodrum is a wonderful designer. I can't wait to see what she has done with the Smart Home. Although, I can take or leave the Marlin mounted on the wall! The "rules" state that they do not have to film the winner or provide a tv program about contacting the winner. If they ambush the first chosen and televise it, who knows what happens after that! Maybe they take the house and maybe the cash option, or maybe they will be disqualified. The rest is up to the discretion of HGTV. They do have the option of checking background before contacting the winner and some background checks take a long time to come back. Just a thought! The only caveat is that the rules also stated that the Winner would be contacted on or about Feb 28-Mar 4! Something is different this time. We had all of that crazy weather and airports were closed the first week, flights out of Chicago were cancelled. Monica's article in the Chicago newspaper on March 11th did also say that if you had taken a chance on the 2013 HGTV Dream Home that you may be peeking out your window right now, looking for the camera team. I don't think she would say that if it was over. I think she would be kinder. That was on Monday. I think today would be the final day that they may ambush the winner so that there is only 24 hours to keep quiet about it! I guess hope springs eternal. It is such a beautiful dream.
